Topic: Best strategy games on the DS

So bought my first Nintendo DS this past weekend. Was impressed with the number of strategy games to be found in the systems lineup. Started with three titles that I thought I would like a lot:

1. Advanced Wars: Days of Ruin
2. Civilization Revolution
3. Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift
4. Anno 1701
5. Advance Wars (GBA)

Have my eye on the following:
1. Advanced Wars: Dual Strike
2. Age of Empires: The Age of Kings
3. Steel Horizon
4. Panzer Tactics

Any other strategy titles that people would highly recommend?

Move Dual Strike higher up the list!

Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume is a quite good strategy game.
Disgaea DS is pretty good too.

Is Warhammer 40,000: Squad Command worth buying?

Digiki: I didn't have them listed in any particular order. Just listed them off as I remembered them. I'll be sure to look for Dual Strike when I'm next in line for a game. I'll take a look for the other two you listed, thanks. For me, the best bang for your buck is with strategy games, and I'm amazed that the DS has so many of them. It's the one thing I really miss for the Wii, though I can't wait to start playing Dawn of Discovery.

I haven't been overly impressed with Warhammer 40K: Squad Command. Though I haven't really given it much time either... Only played through the first mission.

MetalMario

I have Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon. It's good, but not as good as other FEs.

What he said, it's vastly inferior to the other Fire Emblems. I'd also place it behind the other DS strategy titles as well. Although there's no harm in looking into it.

I wish they would make a better one for DS, actually...

Indeed, a DS remake that's most likely inferior to the Super Famicom remake is not satisfying to me

Have my eye on the following as well:

5. LEGO Battles
6. Robocalypse
7. Lock's Quest
8. Tom Clancy's EndWar
9. Front Mission
10. Drone Tactics
11. Elite Forces: Unit 77
12. Dawn of Discovery

Anyone play any of these? Recommend some over the others?

PS: Got the Gameboy Advance Advance Wars game, but no manual. Does anyone have the manual that they could scan and email to me? If so, thanks.

Not surprising but I'm a huge fan of the LEGO series for the Wii, so once the price drops (or I can get my hands on a used copy) I'll probably buy it anyways.

And I'll add Knights to the list Ricardo91, thanks!
