As far as pick up and play games I'd go for Paper Plane and Dr. Mario. Great for sitting in the waiting room and whatnot.

Mario Calculator, I've logged 157 hours on it so far! No, I would say Mighty Flip Champs. I found it to be the perfect difficulty and it's fun to go back and play even after beating all the stages.

I love me some flip champs because it's the only DSi game to really innovate, but it's hard. Very hard! I'm stuck at level seven.
