Dragon Quest IX, easily. That game was glorious.

My favourites are Mario and Luigi Bowser's Inside Story, Might and Magic Clash of Heroes, Dragon Quest IX, Chrono Trigger, Pokemon series and the World Ends with You. I think along with the PS2 the DS has the best RPG library of any system ever (?)

My favorite is Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland, but the Mario and Luigi series is great. I also enjoyed Golden Sun: Dark Dawn a lot.

Dragon Quest V (Legendary Game) definitely better than IX (I have not played IX with 4 friends locally though which might be more fun).

Dragon Quest IV and VI are good as well. (VI is dirt cheap for whatever reason).

Chrono Trigger is good if you haven't played it.

Radiant Historia is good.

Don't like Mario and Luigi (The GBA one was ok don't like any of the others).

Freedom of the press is for those who happen to own one.

I think the Super Famicom has best library problem is so few of them were ever translated until later.

Most have a few that are the best of the best whereas the Super Famicom has about 30.

(Some that were never ever translated others that were translated for the GBA / DS etc much later).

My top 3 fav:
3.Chrono Trigger
I know, Chrono Trigger is a great game and it's at 3. But the story never fit great. A teleporter at what looks like a mix of the medieval age and the fact that Lucca can shoot a GUN when others use swords or other weapons I found confusing.
2. Radiant Historia
Story fit perfect. time traveling with an ancient book was very entertaining and was very worth everything.
And now for No.1...
1. The World Ends With You
The story was exciting, the combat system is like no other, the level down system is useful, if you like RPGs,get this. The World Ends With You is easily my favorite.

I have nothing really to say about myself.

Heh, No one has mentioned Knights in the Knightmare? It's gonna take a while to get a grip on the mechanics but it'll be worth it.

Was Mariobro4. No, I'm not taking off my backpack...it's important.

Can anyone recommend RPGs that have exploration and aren't turn-based? I have both of the Zelda games btw.

Well going somewhat loosely by those terms, I's recommend checking out these games:

  • Okamiden
  • Solatorobo: Red the Hunter
  • Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days
  • Kingdom Hearts Re:coded
  • Lufia: Rise of the Sinistrals

Look into the Rune Factory games. I hope those have enough exploration for you.

They probably do. I'll pick it up. Anyone who has Dragon Quest, either IX or any, I have Sentinels of the Starry Skies and it's okay but the turn-based combat was dissapointing and the lack of easy navigation made it difficult to get around. But I like the story and everything. I WOULD recommend Final Fantasy games to those who liked Dragon Quest though.
