Critics who treat adult as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence. -- C.S. Lewis

I'm going to guess the original poster is somewhere under 18, and is thus one of the "kids" who equate maturity with course language, nudity and ultraviolence.
i completely agree. ive seen people who think any game is "kiddy" because it's rated E.

Actually they haven't gotten 'far' enough. Since, most or not all the time parents-guardians-adults don't play with the kids, there is very many an opportunity for games to have a fun-factor that way too, and to teach-engrain kids with better morales, behaviour, scenarios and ideas and such... ...it's almost limitiless... I'm available for assisting-consulting if game-devs-anyone needs help... lol
Dude, if you're so tired of all the "kiddy" games, there are other consoles that I think you might enjoy. They supply you with endless cookie-cutter "mature" first person shooters with blood and gore galore.
Like pretty much everybody else, I'm perfectly content with my "kiddy" games, thank you very much.

There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.
Yeah, I'm definitely tired of kiddy games! That's the stuff kids play! I can't be seen playing those things!
Also, I'm sick and tired of kiddy food! Every restaurant I go to sells hamburgers, or spaghetti and meatballs, or tacos...kids like that stuff! I'm nowhere near secure enough with my own maturity to be seen enjoying something a child could also enjoy!
Ditto all that kiddy music. The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who...they stink! Not enough cursing! Kids can listen to that stuff! How dull!!
And don't even get me started on that kiddy oxygen all the children like to breathe so much.
I noez! I need muh hardcorez!

Pokemon is NOT a kiddie game and im 27 not a kid trying to prove it. Its geared toward younger gamers BUT its the perfect building block to walk a younger gamer into the RPG genre. Heck I preordered Diamond and was one of the oldest standing in line for its release. I hadnt played a Pokemon since the GB Yellow and was stoked at how fun what some call a "kiddie" game can really be. As for NSMB Wii.....I'll be playing Contra Rebirth

To many kids play Halo and Call of Duty. That is why we have a rating system. They think that graphics really matter in the quality of a video game, when it's gameplay that matters. I play kiddy games, but I also play Teen games.
For me, a "kiddy" game is a game clearly aimed at little children (like Go, Diego, Go! or Blue's Clues), and even those do not necessarily have to be bad games if done right.
If you ask me, I am tired of all of the "adult" games (the ones that have lots of pervertedness, bad words, and ultra-violence) and the desire for thereof. I cannot see how people actually like that disgusting stuff, unless such is in attempt to prove to themselves and others that they are "adults," when they are actually proving the opposite.
By the way, I can see Kirby or Mario as kiddy, yet these series are too fun for me to care.
I think the problem (the more Ive thought about it) is that is seems that most of the big triple A titles, Metroid Corruption is a big one being released to a lot of us core gamers shock, it was a VERY EASY game. I actually jumped into a hole over and over again just to see the death animations cause I never died all the way thru the game. Some gamers play games for challenge and when so few games get released that are very hard its frustrating. Especially if you dont care for the FPS, ultra violent crap that has been talked about a bit in this thread, I fall into that category. Explains why Ive been playing old Gameboy games a lot lately too.

I agree! There are too many kiddy games! Where's the blood and gore! Wheres the cursing! Mario sucks, there's no blood! I bought it thinking it was going to be good, but then I realized there were no guns an I was like, WTF! I needed to play Gears 2 for a month before I became a mature adult again.
If you excuse me now I must pre-order Madden 2010, Madden 1011, Halo Reach, Call of Duty 7, Madden 2012, Halo 4, Madden 2013, Gears of War 3, Madden 2013: Bonus Edition, God of War 4, and of course, Madden 2014.
Oh snap, I forgot to mention Madden: The Complete Collection! Can't forget that!
I'm not tired of the "kiddy" games on the DS. For the first, the DS can't handle really amazing graphics, so it often looks much nicer with a cartoony look. Second, I just love Kirby, Mario, etc, so no problems for me ^^
I like the kiddy games. Why do you think I bought a Wii? I've got an Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 if I feel like shooting someone in the face with a bazooka.
Until recently the Sonic Mega Collection (12+) was my highest rated game. I don't enjoy violent games. But then (like Corbie) I would get the urge after a stressful day to shoot someone in the face & bought House Of The Dead: Overkill. You can even do it in slow motion! Think I will stick to the kiddie games.
