Topic: Anyone getting tired of all the 'kiddy' games?

with such a skewed library. Why do the younger generation seem to be catered to so much more then the us older gamers?

The DS is quite clearly for adults. It takes an adult to appreciate titles like Brain Training, or 100 Classic Books, or Crosswords - the kids want the fighting games or FPSers etc etc.

Ergo, the other consoles are the ones for kids (15-18)... There's plenty on the DS for adults.

I'm not young and I love kiddy games.

Not sure what you mean by "kiddy" though, so examples would be great.

Who cares what the game is. If it's a good game play it.

I'm going to guess the original poster is somewhere under 18, and is thus one of the "kids" who equate maturity with course language, nudity and ultraviolence.

If it's a good game, I'll play it. Same as I'll never get tired of cartoons, even when others shy away because "they're for kids"
I hate most all of these "mature" titles coming out on other consoles. They're all the same. Give me a family-friendly title that's unique and fun to play over a cliched FPS or some other violent action game any day

The problem isn't kiddy games...it's shovelware. Kiddy games can be deep and fun at the same time though if done right (ex. Water Warfare).

Well said RJay. Its the Flash Games being sold for 20-30 bucks that pisses me off. There are kids with systems too and there is a market for the games. When I have children myself I will be buying the games such as Up, Wall-e, etc for them to enjoy. But there a lots of games for us gamers on Wii and DS (especially on DS) as for the games being easy such as Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime, NSMB, I do agree I think Nintendo needs to incorporate difficulty levels into the games and not this Everbody can play system being intergratted into NSMB for Wii. I want the challenge levels to go up. BUT with The Legendary Starfy....Im a hardcore and its a great fun title that is very easy but a absolute blast to play and very relaxing and funny as well. The same can be said for Mario RPGs. Take it for what they are. There is a market for kids games and its called kids. Me im sick of applications.

Yes! We need more "grown up" titles... I wouldn't even mind the 100 book collection that they have in Europe. But being "grown up" doesn't necessarily mean boring or reference titles, I would like to see the original Zelda, etc, for download or for the dsi in a game package.

Well, as had been said, that depends of what you mean by kiddy games. If mean something like Mario Kart, then those can be awesome. If you mean the crap based on cartoons, toys and anime then they almost always suck

I don't like the term "Kiddy Game". For example, some would call Kirby a kiddy game, and it's one of my favorite DS games. Some would call Wii Music a kiddy game, but as you can see on the Wii forums there's a huge Wii Music thread where some people like myself really get hardcore about that game. I love bright, colorful platformers like Klonoa and Kirby. I'm 17, but I don't think that most of the "mature" games out there are very mature at all and would much rather play Mario or Wii___ than Call of Duty or Madworld

Yeah, I'm definitely tired of kiddy games! That's the stuff kids play! I can't be seen playing those things!

Also, I'm sick and tired of kiddy food! Every restaurant I go to sells hamburgers, or spaghetti and meatballs, or tacos...kids like that stuff! I'm nowhere near secure enough with my own maturity to be seen enjoying something a child could also enjoy!

Ditto all that kiddy music. The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who...they stink! Not enough cursing! Kids can listen to that stuff! How dull!!

And don't even get me started on that kiddy oxygen all the children like to breathe so much.
