Do you think it's true. If so, what features do you think or want it to have.

...I dunno...AC is starting to get boring, couldn't even stay into City Folk that long till taking it back. T_T

I loved every AC. I really like being able to talk to friends with Wii Speak even though there's a couple of minor flaws with it. I hope if there's a new AC for the 3DS they can use its microphone to talk to friends instead of typing.

I hope its true. I'm a big fan of the Animal Crossing series. I still play City Folk and some Animal Crossing for the Cube, but I do feel like its time for a new AC. Hopefully, it'll actually be a NEW one and not just like WW or City Folk with a few new things. I really hope, if this is true, that Nintendo takes this chance to reinvent Animal Crossing. Yes, there are certain things that HAVE to be in a Crossing game: fishing, catching bugs, wacky Animal neighbors, but it's time that they rethink the graphics (imo---Wind Waker like graphics would be awesome) and add lots of new features. There is a lot of untapped potential for Crossing. Hopefully the 3DS Crossing (if real) will be something different. We've had three games that are similar. Its time to take the franchise to the next level.

So ya, a 3DS AC would have a lot to prove to me. Heck, the 3DS has a lot to prove. I'm still not convinced I want one. A new Animal Crossing would def. help convince me of the 3DS. Especially if its something different.

If it was amazingly new and different it would be the one game that would interest me in getting a 3DS. AC: Let's Go to the City is the longest running game I have ever played. I finally stopped playing around Easter time and I do miss it, but the game is pretty much played out for me. If they re-vamped the game for the 3DS I would love to play it, and would get the new 3DS. Otherwise, I'm sticking with my DSi, and still hoping for a DSi XL later this year.

There's this one idea I liked from a person at Animal Crossing Community, they said it would be cool if each town had a different ecosystem in one section of our town, like a desert, tundra, etc. Then a city, and finally a normal forest covering the rest of town.

What they do with a 3DS Animal Crossing will depend on how they interpret sales. On the one hand, they might look at the relatively weak sales of City Folk and declare that it's time to do some new things with the series. On the other hand, they might compare the sales of CF and WW and simply conclude that Animal Crossing sells better as a portable game.

There are so many cool things that could be done with the series, but so far they've played it safe. Even the city in City Folk could have been amazing. They could have made it THE place to interact with friends so that you never have to worry about anyone damaging your town proper, with some of your town's native fruit trees growing there. There also could have been a satellite location of Tom Nook's store located there so your friends could look for items they can't find in their towns. Never mind about the possibility of having special things to do in the city, like minigames you can play with your friends or alone using the Wii remote.

Instead, they just put some of the town visitors in the city so you can see them whenever you get ready.

I really hope a 3DS Animal Crossing does something new and great with the series. Everyone seems to have awesome ideas about what to do with the series except Nintendo.

I'm very excited about the Nintendo 3DS itself and the prospect of a new Animal Crossing title. I really enjoyed Animal Crossing Wild World and I plan to purchase Animal Crossing Wii sometime soon.

One of my absolute favorite Nintendo franchises. I certainly hope its true, since after Wild World I think that AC is much more suited for handhelds.

This better be true, but this time actually NEW things. Even if it isn't that much different, I would still buy it, for the sake of an Animal Crossing in 3D!

I agree with you Kid_A. I also believe that Animal Crossing lends itself more to handhelds as opposed to consoles.

Hope it's more like the original. Down view on your character. Bushes, police station, post office, dump, lighthouse, etc.

Just for you.

Really hope it's true, but they definetely need to add something new. There's all sorts of possibilities they could do with the game. I hope that City Folk's sales compared against Wild World's will convince them.

@Chrono. I hope its nothing like the original nor like Wild World or City Folk. I really want the game to be different. I think it NEEDS to be different. I don't think most people would be interested if it was more like the original or more like Wild World or like City Folk. I totally agree with SuperMarioFan that it needs to be something NEW. I don't think it should have bushes or a police station or post office, dump, etc, but it shouldn't have a town hall or any of the features of Wild World/City Folk either.

To be an Animal Crossing game, it only needs these features: Fishing, bug catching, fossil hunting, and wacky Animal neighbor's to interact with. I think the rest of the game could totally be redesigned. I think, in fact, it should be. We've had three games that are pretty similar to each other in style of graphics, animals, and things to do. A new Animal Crossing should have different graphics (more cel-shaded, maybe, like Wind Waker), totally new animals, and possibly new holidays/events & a different kind of town.

I'd love to see a Crossing that actually let you design your own town, sort of like My Sims (expect better!). It would be cool to visit towns online and see the different towns that people create. I think it would cut WAY back on the hackers too if people could just put their houses where they want, decide what animals they want (recruit them via the city?), and decide whether they want lots of grass or just a little grass. Lots of other features could help too, like a bigger city that could be used as the internet meeting place, more stores, etc.

I think you could even get rid of Nook, Rover, other recurring characters. Though, I'd like it if they kept Resetti and K.K. Slider. Everybody else could be all new though in town. Maybe some of the old characters (like Nook) could appear in City stores.

There are tons of other great ideas out there too for AC: outdoor items, more intelligent animals, etc.

I just want to see Nintendo be creative and reinvent Crossing a bit. They are very creative (see Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 and tons of other Nintendo games) and I think they could create a very exciting new AC if they put some effort into it. Hopefully, they are not rushing out just another WW or CF-ish Crossing. If they do announce the game and it just looks like previous AC games with 3-D, I don't think I'd get it. I have three other AC games that I could play if I want the previous experiance and I'm not that sold on the 3-D yet. I need a 3DS Animal Crossing to really impress me, not just with the 3-D, but with the content of the game.

Ya, I'm probably going to be disappointed at E3, either by Nintendo not announcing a new AC game or announcing one and having it look too much like the other games...sigh
