Topic: Ace Attorney Series

I think they went in declining order of quality. 2 was sucky, however the final case more then made up for the shortcomings. 3 was, eh........the cases seemed too far fetched, you know what I'm saying? Body pendulum, seriously?

AJ I found the worst by far in story terms. Everything about it was bad. Gameplay was okay though.

I agree so much as AA1 is my favorite. I found JFA to be weaker, however I like dthe flashback cases in AA3 and the last case, though it did have (as you mentioned) some ridiculous stuff. AJ was really only interesting in its ability to continue the story from AA1-3. (I could care less about AJ although Kristoph Gavin was an awesome character.)

@Objection: Were you able to complete Case 1-5 without GameFAQs. I had it favorited when I was having that case

I'll admit that I had to cheat at one point or another with each game.

I, proudly, never cheated in ANY of the Ace Attorney cases!

I've been on the fence for these games, but always decide not to get them. What I get explained to me by others who have played it is that it's a linear experience with little to no replay value, and those are big no-no's in my book..

@Firkraag - So you never buy books or movies? Kinda the same problem.

Plus, you are missing out on one of the greatest video game characters of all time, Mia's cleavage.

also, i find myself in agreement re: the cleavage being somewhat creepy in terms of Pearl... D: though Mia is pretty hilarious when she puts in her appearance in 3-3.

The Ace Attorney games were hard to me. I think that the first one is the best even though the very last case was nearly impossible for me

I buy books, but lucky for me i'm one of those one chapter a week kind of reader a book can take me months. Don't buy many movies though, last ones were shaun of the dead and battle royal like 6 months ago. And currently reading 'World War Z' I bought it at the same day as the movies

I have to say though, i'd rather watch a movie 3-4-5 times than play a linear game with zero to none replay value more than once/never.

Well, I may be the odd bird but I've played through the ace attorney games multiple times. I usually play a little bit each night, kinda like a novel. I encourage you to give one a try.

No 5th chapter/ No Butz =

What a final case though! My expectations were pretty low when I saw Oldbag in a alien suit. WTF? Then out of no where it turns into a frantic frenzy. The end was just superb.

I am impatient so I went out and bought Apollo Justice while I wait for T&T to come in the mail.

I just love this series. I hope this topic turns a few other people on to the epic wonder that is Ace Attorney.

Very nice, JayArr. Trials and Tribulations is my favorite of 2-4, with Apoolo Justice being right behind it. Glad that you enjoy the series. (3 and 4 have the best antagonists of the series IMO, too.)

I'm in chapter four now. This game has something special about it that JFA didn't. I can't put my finger on it.

I was speaking of Desiree in the case of BlackDragon.

I was stoked that the Butz made a triumphant return. Though I think it may be something else. This game just feels well written compaired to the rest. I am on the last case now. I saved it just after the murder and can't wait to get out of work to see what happens. That section ended on some what of a cliff-hanger or cliff-faller if you will.

I would like to pose a question. It seems after Investigations they have announced AA5. Which of these would evryone find most interesting:

Phoenix Wright: 4
Apollo Justice: 2
Mia Fey: Ace Attorney
Something else...Not sure what happens to Godot in the future but a game featuring him would be intrigueing as well

I'd prefer a PW4 as it were. AJ was nice but he really serves his whole purpose in the one game. Trials and Tribulations already covered Mia and I don't need more of her.

JFA was the worst one for me (that doesn't mean it's a bad game).
Apollo Justice the best one, because of all the hidden connections with other cases.
T&T was good, but spirit channelling is fiction (just as the Psyche-locks) and Apollo Justice's bracelet was a bit more realistic.
The first game in the series was the most realistic. So my top 4 is:
1. Apollo Justice.
2. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney.
3. Trials & Tribulations.
4. Justice for all.

@JayArr: I'd be most interested in the next Apollo Justice title... i want to see what secrets Gavin is still hiding. :3
