Hey all. I'm gonna need your help here. I'm going to purchase both Professor Layton games in the not-so-far future. I'm wondering what your opinions are on the first game, and if you have also heard that the Diabolical Box will be more of the same (in a good way) and have more of it! Do you think it would be okay for me to open the Diabolical Box before I visit the Curious Village? I need to know soon, so I can tell Club Nintendo whether I "intend to buy this product" or not. P.S. Anyone catch my hidden reference in the topic's title?
@Odnetnin: I would highly recommend finishing Professor Layton and the Curious Village before playing The Diabolical Box. Yes, the game is basically a bunch of puzzles but there is also a story in the game and each of these titles are interconnected. I really loved the characters and story in the first game and I have been dying to play the sequel! If you start with the second game chances are you are going to miss some really cool stuff from the first game thus leaving you a little lost.
I originally bought Professor layton as a gift for my friend, but the more I looked at the title and read about and looked at the box the more i fell in love with it. At one time, I player PL for 9 hours straight....Incredibly addicting witha suspenseful story line, and a whole bunch of incredibly fun puzzles

As in, it's "okay for me to open the Diabolical Box before I visit the Curious Village? "?
Have you even heard of Pandora's Box? Tip: Do not open it!
There he goes, Firkraag. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die. - My VGscore
Diabolical Box will spoil one of the big twists in Curious Village for you. I'd play Curious Village first because I'm pretty sure the stories are connected.

@Odnetnin: Oh, it is definitely something else! The revelation about Inspector Chelmey is a bit of a surprise but the biggest surprises and twists come at the end of the game! Don't worry, they haven't been spoiled for you yet!
