well theres a difrace between memos and anomations. memos are little reminders you wright for yourself.

people generally use memo pads or the corner of a big notebook as flip books. thus, 'moving memo' or 'moving notepad'. the japanese name for the program (ugoku memo-chou) actually includes the word 'memo' as well. it's not farfetched to think the english translation might not actually be 'flip book', so yelling at people over it is unnecessary.
