I mentioned this on the news topic on the front page randomly, but now I kinda like Nintendo Triforce. Its undeniably Nintendo and before anyone says it, I know its also the name of an arcade board, but I doubt the majority of casual gamers know that or whether it would matter.
Also, I think they could come up with some great ad campaigns with the name. Similar throwbacks to "Now you're playing with power!"
It could even be something like this, Prerelease: "Do you have what it takes? Nintendo Triforce, Winter 2010" New Smash Bros/Mario Kart: "Do you have... the power?" New Mario Bros/Legend of Zelda: "Do you have... the courage?" New Professor Layton/Brain Age: "Do you have... the wisdom?" Holiday: "Do you have it? Nintendo Triforce"

...I'd be surprised if they stuck with 3DS now that I've been thinking more about it since it sounds really similar to a certain Apple product iPhone 3GS.

I don't think the 3DS name is too similar to the 3GS... since that's not really the product's name (iPhone), just an iteration. And didn't they say the "DS" was a code, too, before it stuck? Frankly I like the 3DS as a name. But I imagine the real name will somehow identify the other main element to the system that is yet to be revealed, if we believe all the rumors that say 3D visuals won't even be the most important upgrade, just as the dual-screens on the DS weren't actually the big innovation (that of the touch screen).
