After a few disheartened comments after the Metroid Prime Trilogy competition we'd like you to read this announcement and consider your response before posting something silly.

When we run competitions we very rarely have any control over where that competition is targeted. Fact: competitions are sponsored by publishers. If a UK publisher gives us copies of their game to give away obviously we can only give them to our UK readers, it's a simply fact of marketing. Even if we could open these up to our North American friends you wouldn't be able to play the PAL version of the game on your NTSC console.

We're primarily based in the UK and we've put a lot of effort into building our local relationships with publishers which explains why we're getting a number of UK/European based competitions at the moment. We're also working hard on expanding our US presence and we expect more US based competitions in the coming months and years.

Bottom line, please don't complain when we run competitions outside of your region, it's nothing personal it all comes down to the prizes we're given and who gives them :P

@Chibi-Link, we do work with a few companies in Australia but to be honest not many. We obviously recognise that Australia is our 3rd biggest readership (behind UK/EU and North America) so we'll certain be trying to get some AU competitions one day :)

That's good you guys took some time out to do this. It became clear to me that you guys didn't have too much control over it but still, it was nice of you guys to post about it. And yeah, looking forward to more NA competitions (including Canada). Even something simple like offering Wii Points would go a long way.
