It was confirmed to have amiibo support already, right? So why the heck haven't they updated the game yet? Do you think it's going to be something big?

Probably just waiting for the next Nintendo Direct for it to be announced/released. Judging by the other games amiibo support i wouldn't get your hopes up. Maybe at the most we could hope for extra levels based on the scanned character/ franchise? That would be good

amiibo won't be withholding extra content; as in levels and characters. It will be something that doesn't affect the game too much; like extra lives, different costumes or something like that.

Well being it patched in later I don't expect much more than we got in MK8 and HW. For the later games that should have it in release I'm expecting it to be big

I was just playing Captain Toad wondering when can I use my Amiibo?

If it's extra levels, I hope they release them as DLC too. So for example, you'd have packs of three or so levels referencing another series that can be bought for, say, a buck each, but if you scan an amiibo from that series you get them for 'free' (since you already paid for the amiibo).

Yeah I expect some type of new little stage for each character, based on that character's world. At least that would be the best scenario I could come up with, without it taking away too much from players who don't have an amiibo. I expect that the mow compatible amiibo plus Zelda and Rosalina Will probably give this feature, and then the other amiibo will probably just be used to give lives and items.

Judging by the "Bonus" selection book that has a ton of missing pages, I think it might be extra levels. And that's why we haven't seen the support yet- still in development.
Just my guess.

@DiscoGentleman I think that means you haven't completed all the levels, because the Bonus chapter in my game is completed.

Yeah, I'm really disappointed about that lame toad functionality. Codename steam seems like THE reason to get that amiibo reader out pronto!

It would be cool if you find all the 8-bit Toads you unlock Super Mario Bros. (NES) where you play as Toad

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...
