That's what the guy told me. Maybe they all lied so they could keep the copies for themselves, I dunno. I have read the GameStop policy too and I couldn't find anything on how many days the shop will hold your pre-order (or "pickup@store order).

You think "store policy" is stopping some of this sketchy stuff going on? There was a similar thing going on with an EBGame store (aka Gamestop) in Melbourne. Someone who worked at the store reserved for themselves a whole pile of Amiibo and they sat in the back of the store for months "reserved". I think we can all guess why. When they were found out all of a sudden there was a bit of an Amiibo frenzy in Melbourne for half a day. I think we can safely assume said person was sacked....

"Don't stir the pot" is a nice way of saying "they're too dumb to reason with"

Yeah I'm pretty sure the mysterious customers who come once in a while to collect their stuff it's actually them.
The website said the items were in stock but when we went they told us they were pre-ordered or reserved. Now, since all sales, pre-orders and reservations are done throught the same computer system that keeps track of the stock, how come there's this huge discrepancy? Isn't a pre-ordered good already sold?!

The absolute best was the store manager from another GameStop who, talking about the New 3DS Majora's Mask Edition, said "We barely had enough copies for us...".

Next time I should bring a recorder and tape the $h!t€ they tell you - the only problem is that there's no one who would listen because I couldn't even find an email address for complaints.

I have to disagree. What makes it the scalper's fault is the fact that these are companies buying them in bulk and reselling them on their market place stores and Ebay. That's right it's not always a single person. I understand your philosophy that if we don't buy them people won't scalp them. That's true for the individuals doing it, but the businesses that are taking part will hold the stock until it's either purchased at the extorted price or wait until it's publicly available, and then sell their stock at msrp breaking even.

What I don't understand about the whole amiibo, is why there is still so little stock. Why not continue to make Amiibo until they stop selling, rather than having set shipments that still fail to supply the demand? I would rather have an excess of Amiibos that could potentially be sold rather than having continuous stock shortages. I only own one Amiibo (Link) and to be perfectly honest, that's all I'll ever own.

We're going on a bear hunt! We're going to catch a big one!

Isn't a big part of that the strikes that were happening on the ports? they weren't able to ship enough figures out? Which is why we are also hearing that certain regions are getting stock packaged for japan or something?

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

Because they'd lose money with too much excess.
