This conversation reminds me (sorry for going off topic) I haven't heard anything about that Starlink game Ubisoft were showing last E3. With toys-to-life struggling atm, I wonder if it's still a thing.

If Nintendo remade Amiibo past and present again. The market prices for Amiibo from Scalpers would drop like a rock. That's what I want Nintend to do this will not only bring the controls back to the buyers but make it available for anyone wanting Amiibo that they missed or put into their missing collection. And if and when that is saturated then they can slow production down to manageable levels. And them make custom orders from Nintendo where you don't pay scalper prices but until the order reaches critical capacity then they will make the order. This to me would tell Nintendo which is in demand and which is not in demand-this will help their bottom line and the more buyers want produce it and the money will flow in.

I couldn't get into Amiibo. Not for lack of wanting to....but limited editions, ones exclusive to xx store, low stock on "common" ones and scalpers buying the already low stock made getting Amiibo more an expensive chore than anything else for me. If I have to turn to scalpers selling online for whats supposed to be a new item, then I'm out.
Like any fad, it seems to be fading away, but the difficulty in getting many of them probably didn't help any.

Not sure what universe your located at but from my galaxy it's not a Black Friday rush but buyers are still looking they just don't announce they are. And some are trying to complete the Amiibo series and that cost money and time. To those of us that has the completed selection it was well worth it cause it have value now that you have the full set series. By themselves the value isn't much but as a example the completed SSB Amiibo series has value.

You can look at the wiki amiibo list and it's not small here.

I feel like, if we don't see many titles that support Amiibo functionality at E3 this year, it will be a sign that Amiibo are nearing their final days. Which is a shame, I honestly feel like they could do much more with them. I still hold that Amiibo Pokemon cards was a HUGE missed opportunity. And the Amiibo update to Animal Crossing New Leaf came after I had almost done almost everything else in that game but a new Animal Crossing on Switch having Amiibo support from day 1 would be awesome!

And yet, we have seen very little Amiibo functionality since the Switch launched. Off the top of my head, just 4 games use it. BotW, Mario Odyessy, FE Warriors, and Kirby All Stars. I guess Hyrule Warriors too and Dark Souls is getting one too. But that is still only 6 games out of the whole Switch library...

I think it will be interesting to see what happens with Smash Bros considering how amiibo was so heavily linked with Smash 4. Though don't forget Splatoon 2 and Mario Kart 8 DX also have amiibo functionality. So alongside the ones you listed, that's most of Nintendo's big Switch titles so far.

@heavyarms55 There are plenty of games with amiibo functionality. In addition to those that you have mentioned, these also spring to mind...

Little Nightmares - Pac-Man unlocks exclusive costume.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe - Unlocks exclusive Mii costumes.
Pokkén Tournament DX - Generic unlocks
Splatoon 2 - Had its own line of amiibo with two more on the way, plus expanded read/write functionality for Splatoon 1 series amiibo
Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle - I'm sure the Mario, Luigi, Peach and Yoshi amiibo unlock weapons or something
Bayonetta 2 - Costume unlocks
Skyrim - Zelda item unlocks
Megaman Legacy Collections 1 & 2 - Both games have amiibo functionality, but what, I don't know
Resident Evil Revelations 2 - It has amiibo functionality, but I have no idea what

I was hoping that Aces would include Ultra Smash style amiibo functionality, but sadly, that doesn't appear to be the case. Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, like the Wii U version, will most likely include generic functionality, and Smash would most likely utilise amiibo as well.

There are probably other examples, but they aren't screaming out at me right now.

I can safely say that certain Amiibo are still, or now selling for a premium price. The Smash (series versions of) Toon Link, Rosalina are worth a pretty penny. My best guess is (that) it is down to store exclusivity, and character popularity. For example, Smash Rosalina was Target exclusive. I might be mistaken, but I seem to recall Toon Link was exclusive, or just rare.

Really, all I want is for amiibo to continue long enough to fill some of the gaping holes in the roster. Collecting amiibo is a bit like having a real-life version of the trophy collection in Smash Bros and it would be frustrating if it ended without being truly complete.

So basically, I feel it would be a bit mad if, when it's all said and done, there's an amiibo of Cloud Strife (no disrespect to the character, but he's not a Nintendo character, has barely ever appeared on Nintendo systems and is practically a PlayStation mascot) and yet there wasn't one of: Dixie Kong, Cranky Kong, Toadette, Ice Climbers, Peppy Hare, Slippy Toad, Pig Ganon, Impa, Samuari Goroh, Koopalings, etc.

As long as Nintendo is here there will be Amiibos being made and resold and considering SSB Switch they have sounded like they will remake all the Smash Amiibo again. So those looking it looks like they will have them again.
