Topic: Is Something Wrong With The NFC Scanner On My Wii U Gamepad?

I usually rest my thumb on the scanner of my Gamepad when browsing on the Wii U internet browser and I didn't think that would damage it, but now the white paint where the scanner is has faded and my Gamepad is having trouble recognizing Amiibo. Has anyone else experienced these issues and is there an easy fix without having to send my Gamepad in for repairs? Thanks in advance.

Which update? My issues started today. Was there a new system update earlier?!

edit: Sorry for the lack of information in my first post. xD

Well- And I'm just assuming you're having problems with smash since it's mostly the only game that really uses them- but ever since the mewtwo update, I have noticed Amiibos take longer to be read.

Other than that, I don't think that constantly placing your thumb on that part can affect anything other than the paint job... Unless you have magnets in your thumbs or something.

I don't think that should cause any damage. Unless perhaps you accidentally bumped it kind of hard or dropped your gamepad. Is it with all of your amiibo? Most of mine work fine, but it appears that there is a problem with my Link amiibo and so it usually takes multiple tries to work.
