Pikmin? I doubt they will revisit Pikmin 3. Is this hinting at a Pikmin 4?
Who knows? They could just create a whole new series of DLC packs for Pikmin 3, or they could make a Pikmin 4. Pikmin 3's special ending did leave it wide open for another installment anyway. Either way, more Pikmin in my life would be fantastic.
Another cool idea for Pikmin would be some sort of "Monster Fighting Mode" in which you can use the various monsters from Pikmin and have them fight each other like Japanese Bug Fights. You can select default monsters or you could use an amiibo figure of that monster that can level up and learn new moves. Just like in the Pokemon Stadium games how you can use your Pokemon or just use default rental Pokemon. In the end, this is just my excuse of wanting them to make Pikmin monster amiibo figures.
I keep saying, they really need to make a Yugioh game that uses the cards, I still have my stash from when I used to collect them...I wanna like...sell them but, ugh...I dunno! xD
Make it happen Nintendo! lol

Keep it PG-13-ish.
Formally called brewsky before becoming the lovable, adorable Yoshi.
Now playing:
Final Fantasy XIV (PC) | The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (Switch) | Celeste (Switch)
http://mariokart8.nintendo.com/amiibo/ has been removed (mistake from Nintendo) and this is what the site shows as well as hinting that November 13 is the release date for DLC Pack 1
So C. Falcon gets a clear (ish) support base but everyone else gets the weird colors? I'm a little hurt that Zelda has a purple Chu Chu up her dress... but still buying all of them.

Is it just me or are a bunch of people complaining that they want nintendo to lock vital parts of the gameplay behind an amiibo paywall?
Nope you are correct. I blame skylanders and DI for setting that expectation.

Some gamers will always complain. Some would complain if the Amiibo would be required for functionality, some would complain when the Amiibo has too little functionality.

I just hope some of them are not the same person complaining both ways. Kind of like the people who complain about a game they want is not localized where they live and when it is localized, they complain it took too long and wouldn't buy it for that reason.

Nintendo is interested in bringing amiibos to third-parties:
NOA's licensing manager Damon Baker told IGN:
“We’re having those conversations[/b] and we’re still early on because amiibo isn’t even going to launch until later this month. We’re excited to see how that pans out but there’s a ton of interest from our third-party partners and we’re looking at what makes sense in terms of business models and levels of integration. There are really creative ideas that are coming through and we are working towards some opportunities for next year.”
Also, marketing director David Wharton said:
“Think about our implementation for our products, it’s really developer-centric. It’s really about opening up new capabilities and new ways of extending the value of games and bringing the functionality into games. As a company we’re interested in as many different creative explorations of that functionality. Exactly what that’s going to be in the future, not only for third-party but first-party, that story has yet to be written. We’ve got a couple of examples of how it’s going to look today — but imagine the future, the sky is the limit.”
