Interesting everyone's saying it's so hard. It's one of the few 2D Mario games I've actually beaten, haha.
Same! I suck at most video games and I did beat this..
It's quite an easy game at some points, but also one that packs a punch at others =3 And combined with one of the best artwork styles i've ever seen in any platformer, not to mention gorgeous game mechanics ( one has to adore the egg-throwing attack ) it adds up to one hell of an experience! >

Yeah, you can make it more difficult by going for good scores, which is a plus. And it's a beautiful game. I think it has some of the most flawless and creative artwork I've ever seen- nothing seems out of place in it and it flows so perfectly.

Yep yep yep Plus, it's nice to have a game dedicated to other nintendo characters for once ;P That's one of the reasons it got me hooked. A game all about yoshi ^^ hehe.

You should try Yoshi's Story (N64). It's a little different compared to Yoshi's Island, but it's still pretty fun. The goal is simple: Yoshi has to collect 30 pieces of fruit in each level, but extra levels are locked until you find the hidden Hearts.
I'm always dissappointed with Yoshi's Story because despite enjoying new ideas for a series, if it was just Yoshi's Island 2 on N64, it would have been better than Yoshi's Island maybe. Still a good game though.
Loved Yoshi's Island, and I was happy to get it free even if it was the gba version which had some drawbacks such as the lower quality music and "not-as-good" stage effects Touch fuzzy get dizzy I'm looking at you. After some thorough playtime, yes the game is still as good as I remember it to be and I'm happy to se many people feeling the same way. In fact, If they re-released YI as a SNES 3D classic on the eshop, I'd gladly pay for it just to see the SNES version in S3D. That or hopefully Nintendo decides to make a Great Yoshi sequel, because I'm still hopeful.
Gonna play it some more tonight. Loving this game! Just wish we had Super Mario World, too

Yoshi's Island is my least favorite Mario game. I thought it was fairly boring and too easy. The graphics and art are pretty, but playing as Yoshi with baby Mario on his back just wasn't fun for me.
@ y2josh Too easy? Somebody hasn't tried the special stages. You want a challenge try unlocking and completing those.
