@Link: I ALWAYS somehow screw up on the first dungeon when aiming for perfect scores, I have no idea why....I keep getting hit by...I forget the boss' name...Fatso? Yeah, I'll call him Fatso. lol

Yoshi's Island is so hardcore for a "kiddy"-looking game. It's probably one of the hardest platformers I've ever played (along with Donkey Kong Country 2 and DKC Returns).
Just wait till you get to the level "Touch Fuzzy, Get Dizzy". That level always gives me headaches.

...Never really found DKC2 that hard...for some odd reason its the only game I'm able to actually beat. Only beat the first once, and...never even gotten to the ending of the 3rd one. xD I miss the SNES version of the Fuzzy-effect though. T.T

I remember people thinking this game was for babies when it first came out. The cutesy crayon art look and baby Mario fooled people. The bonus stages will change your mind real quick. I promise you'll be spewing the most foul language known to anyone but you'll be coming back for more.

Yeah, they really should have titled that level: "Touch Fuzzy, Get Seizure".
...@Pixel: I can pretty much beat EVERY Mario game with little problems. Besides the old "Bros." games. >.>
Super Mario Bros. 2 is too hard for me, I probably only beat that game twice.
Super Mario Bros. 3 I can beat in my sleep. I played that game hundreds of times as a kid (on the NES, in Mario All-Stars, and on the GBA).
SMB: The Lost Levels is tough, but I managed to beat the All-Stars version after months of practice. For some reason the Virtual Console / Famicom version is harder to beat.
Interesting everyone's saying it's so hard. It's one of the few 2D Mario games I've actually beaten, haha.
It's not that hard to beat but I imagine completing it 100% would be a nightmare.
Quick question: if I get the 30 stars and 20 coins on one try and then the 5 flowers on another, would I have the 100 points or do I need to do all three in one shot?

SMB 2 is too hard? I beat it in less than a week when I first got it back in the day lol I thought SMB 3 was way harder! The ending in SMB 2 is very cute, its a surprise ending... you gotta play it to find out... The only problem with SMB 2 is that there was no points or scoring, its still a very fun game, though. Wish they would release that in the e-shop, i'd happily buy it!

I decided to go for a 100% score on every level and holy crap it's exausting! I'm only through the first world and had to take a break. I just spent 40 minutes trying to get a perfect score on the bonus stage. It's that one called "Poochy ain't stupid." I was about to punch the wall. That stage is one pain in the rear. Ugh!
I got 100% on every level on the SNES version including the bonus levels back in 1996. The hardest bonus levels to get 100% on in my opinion are "More monkey madness" (world 3) and "Kamek's revenge" (world 5).
One of the best GBA games ever. I'm not playing it at the moment becuase It's too familiar. I beat the main game 3 times when I had it on GBA, and beat the DS version twice - so I wont be playing it much right now over the other games. Never the less - if anyone is new to it - have fun!
I beat this first time when I was about 8 years old. Yoshi's Island is one of my all-time favorite games. It can be easy, it can be hard, it can be anything from between but it never gets frustrating (if you don't try to get 100 points from all stages). The game looks really nice, it has nice level design, good controls, nice new ideas and it features Yoshi as a main character! Who can't fall in love with this game?
It's its, not it's.

To be honest, this game isn't as good as I remember. I'm only on, like, the third level though, maybe I'll get into more as I get farther.

I think you mean "one of the best Super NES games ever", since that version was the original. The GBA version is an enhanced port.
