What's taking them so long? They were released on Japanese 3DS VC months ago.

A truckload of Japanese 3DS and Wii U VC games have released and haven't been localized Sad, huh?

I own a Wii U and 3DS. I also own a PS4!

Well as far as I know, if there was an issue with "NINTENDO" and "RARE" they would not be on the Japanese "e-Shop" unless they been developed in Japan via separate company over there. So I say they're just lazy.

Who are you?

Maybe Nintendo had full rights for Japan only.

I actually wonder if Nintendo have something against Britain... Both Rare and Argonaut (creators of Super FX) were British companies. Do the Japanese currently have something against the UK? I don't really keep up with politics but it has to be something pretty big if they won't even release two of their biggest franchises (Donkey Kong and Star Fox)

I'd imagine if they had a problem with the UK they wouldn't have worked with Rare & Argonaut in the first place besides they work with the US despite having a nuclear bomb dropped on them.

Maybe it has something to do with Microsoft. Europe is a lost cause for the Xbox brand (except in the UK). USA is the only market left where the Xbox brand holds any relevance, so maybe Microsoft doesn't want games by a company they now own to be on a competitor's hardware?

Or maybe just, as usual, NoA has no interest whatsoever in VC and may or may not release them in 6 months. If you haven't noticed, the North American VC is supported almost entirely by Konami and Capcom alone.

I'm sure that NOA will be bringing out the Donkey Kong Land and Donkey Kong Country trilogies out over the coming months. Virtual Console release dates often vary widely between regions. Nothing unusual at all that we're still waiting.

Yes. If the DKC&L trilogy being recently released on the WiiU eshop and Revived on the Wii shop on europe is anything to go by, NA will be getting the DKC&L love shortly.

Was Mariobro4. No, I'm not taking off my backpack...it's important.

By delaying the games for no reason, people will talk and complain about them being missing more and more to build hype for when they are released.
Nintendo's marketing is genius!

Japan still has it best. (GBC version of 3 - Only one I am interested in - Other than SNES DKC2 but not at 50hz so Nintendo gets zero from me).

I want all of those games but the Pokemon TCG will hold me over until they come

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

I assume they are but the way NoA has been with their VC as compared to Japan and EU as of late, I'm guessing it won't be until about Spring of 2015. And I'm not joking. It's frustrating but I'm actually getting used to it. We still don't have Fire Emblem, Mario Pinball, or some other games that are out elsewhere either, so I figure DK will be a while sadly.

Meanwhile we still have Demon's Crest, Wild Guns, and the GBA Castlevanias while everybody else doesn't. I think we still won this...

They'll get there eventually. NoA and NoE don't really care about what the other one is releasing each week. Plus, they both have an initiative (which I think is awesome) where they'll organise release dates so that indie titles don't get overshadowed by first party releases on each week. Either way it's not like there aren't enough good games getting released to tide either region over

and tangentially, I actually found the first DKLand game to be terrible :/ Did anyone have a better experience with 2 or 3? I might just use it to get the discount for Returns 3D and skip the other Land games tbh

always thought I'd change to Gyarados after I turned 20 but hey, this is more fitting I guess. (also somebody registered under the original Magikarp name and I can't get back to it anymore orz)

Land III also has a warm 3 star review on my eShop

Looking at the screenshots it's almost as zoomed in as Land 1, and that's the thing I hated most about that game -sigh-

I also found the first game terrible, though my main issue was that the graphics were far too detailed to be visible on the green screen. Rare was probably more concerned with proving their then state-of-the-art graphics creation ability, and the story for DKL was actually about graphics-vs-gameplay.
I skipped 2, but I played much of 3. The graphics detail was greatly toned down by then for easier viewing (although people who didn't play the games on the original GB, the one with the blurry green screen with no built-in lighting, will probably not appreciate that on the 3DS).
