Topic: Why not more GBA games on the VC?

They're not penalizing you for not getting a launch 3DS, lol. Remember, they weren't going to give GBA games to anyone at first.

It was an apology to launch buyers since they dropped the price significantly so soon, not a penalty against newer buyers (although, as a launch buyer, I don't feel like they owed me anything since the purchase was my choice, but I'll take the free games ).

I (an Ambassador) wouldn't mind at all if they made the GBA games public, I just don't think it's very likely considering the extreme lack of effort that went into giving us these games (In contrast, the NES games had MUCH more care put into their 3DS optimization, due to the fact that they were already going to be public anyways).

Yes it would make you happy, but unfortunately like he said we ambassadors got them because we bought the 3DS at FULL price not after the price drop (which was cut by a third). So Non-ambassadors won't get them (for now) It may be a long time before you see them (if ever), You just have to accept that you didn't have the 3DS before the price drop. We were lucky to get anything out of the price drop, I didn't expect anything from nintendo, but they 'apoligised' and I accepted that, so what we got out of that "Apology" was fair game and I don't think you should be complaining, even if you're willing to pay for the games yourself.

EDIT: Why is there a thread about this anyway? haven't you got better things to talk about? e.g.ehop releases, 3DS VC, blah blah blah etc? This topic was resolved ages ago, I don't know why people continue to complain and whinge, believe me when I say that Nintendo doesn't give a crap, cos they don'.......mmmmm hmmmmm!!

If it's possible to award ambassadors with GBA titles, it's possible to eventually offer them for sale in the eShop.

So than you should have just accepted the fact that you paid 250 for your 3DS. Why is it not ok for us non ambassadors to complain about not getting GBA games when you ambassadors complained about the price drop?

I think the GBA games should hold off until we get more GBC games.

Yeah, dude, relax. I'm an Ambassador, too, but if people want a game and they're willing to pay for it, why is that so wrong? I'd be happier if Nintendo made the GBA games for sale (after more GBC...) because maybe I'd be able to MK:SC with someone or get the update to do sleep mode and whatnot.

I'm sure Nintendo will bring the GBA games to the 3DS at some point, but there's no point in quarrelling over who got what. Who knows, Nintendo might of been testing the waters to see if they could emulate GBA games on the 3DS, they did it successfully, albeit with a few minor annoyances, you can't open the Home Menu, it won't go into Sleep Mode and Multiplayer doesn't work.

I'm sure down the line and they fix out these kinks they'll release them to the general public. Besides, if you have anyone to be angry at, it should be me for getting my 3DS for free and then getting 10 free GBA games. I would like to call this a double win!

If they do add more I want ruby/sapphire/emerald, drill dozer, Twisted, golden sun 1 and 2, Stafy games, rhythm Tengoku, KH CoM, FF1+2 Dawn of Souls, Castlevania Aria of Sorrow, advance wars 1 and 2, the fire emblem with Roy and the one with lyn, and LG/FR

No, it wasn't.

Nintendo's last big "risky" game was Tales of Phantasia, and supposedly it didn't sell well (one on hand, it was the only official English version. On the other, it was said to be the worst port of the game.)
So the only GBA game they released after that was Pokemon Rescue Team (the GBA version was the Red version, I think?)
(maybe FF5/6. Can't remember if they were Nintendo or Square-Enix published)

I'm an Ambassador that has all 10 GBA games myself, and I think they should be sold to non-Ambassadors as well. I know even my Spotpass message said that Nintendo had no plans to release the GBA games for non-Ambassadors, but Nintendo also had no plans to localize Xenoblade to North America, and they had no plans to fix the Mario Kart 7 Maka Wuhu glitch. Although I also hope Nintendo adds link cable functionality to GB/GBC/GBA games before they sell GBA games to non-Ambassadors as well.

@SRArter I seriously doubt they'll add in link cable support. They don't even support the Super GameBoy mode of gameboy games. We could be playing Donkey Kong ('94) and Metroid 2 in color.

I think those with the GBA games should stop complaining about others not having the games

I don't see why every non-ambassador has this sense of entitlement when clearly they all lost out, big deal guys. Who cares you may as well start Operation What-do-I-Care. You do know that any "Operation" Clearly doesn't work. Nintendo, Xseed and Mistwalker confirmed when they decided to bring over The Last story that it wasn't due to Operation Rainfall (or whatever it was called), it was that Xseed was gonna help with localisation and they knew they could bring it stateside.
Look, I'm not trying to hurt your feelings guys, but I'm letting you know the truth, IF Nintendo decides to give you guys GBA games, they will do it at their speed, not yours. They have to see whether it's financially applicable for them to sell them on the Eshop and whether or not they decide to stick to their promise of only keeping them for ambassadors only is up to them.
How about this, how about you all find some good VC or 3DS games to play and support the eshop, maybe nintendo will notice sales and then decide to release more VC games. Then maybe nintendo will think about GBA games. The reason nintendo put games on 20% off recently, is because games like Super Mario Land weren't selling well because those games had stopped selling, this was probably due to the fact some of the titles have been on since the launch of the Eshop and everyone probably has already played that game.

Remember they are a company/corporation and you are the consumer, Nintendo does listen to its fans, but most of the time it goes in one ear and out the other, believe me I've played video games long enough to know that. That is all
