Topic: Why is NA so behind on 3DS VC games?

EU or JP is way ahead of NA on 3DS VC games such as Wario Land, Kirby's Block Ball, Kirby's Dream Land 2, Dr. Mario, Kid Icarus Myth and Monsters, and Japan is now getting Game and Watch Gallery 2. NA has none of these games and it doesn't even always get 1 VC game a week. At this rate, there will be a few of these games listed not getting released here. Anyone know why this is the case? I was so excited when I saw some classic Game Boy games getting announced or released for EU or JP thinking we'll get it here soon but we just keep falling further and further behind. It's been over 3 months since Wario Land came out on the Japanese VC and so far it's not even listed under coming soon for NA.

One of the virtual console games (3d classics Kid Icarus) is being made available in about a week when Kid Icarus Uprising comes out, buyers of the game get a download code to dl the 3d classics title, i'm sure it'll also be available to purchase, as well, in the e-shop. i am dying to play Kid Icarus: Myth and Monsters, too! Let's hope we see that one, as well.

Europe doesn't have the gamegear games yet so its not really one sided favouritism just seems each region has different ideas about what should be released and when.

Probably because of licensing issues at least thats my guess and they also probably want to space out the releases too rather than just put them all out at once. Also I am sure when the look at releasing the VC games they probably look and see how well the game did on its initial release in their region. Kid Icarus iirc didnt do to well sales wise when it was released on GB. They probably figure that they will make more on the VC Kid Icarus AFTER the Kid Icarus Uprising and more people are introduced to Kid Icarus.

I can't really fault Nintendo for taking their time with VC releases. They've already released so many of their most-known GB games that if they release the rest (Wario Land, KDL2, etc.), we'll have nothing to look forward to in a few months or years. They've recently expanded the 3DS's VC base to include Game Gear games and NES titles not available in the Ambassador program, so both of those will (hopefully) prevent a major drought like the Wii's VC has had. TG-16 games have been announced for the service, so it's likely some other platforms like the Genesis and SNES will eventually come to the service as well. As for Japan being ahead of NA or EU, it's always been like that; we've come to accept that as an unfortunate fact. You've just gotta be patient; the games'll come eventually.

America has the third party samurai game, the Nintendo Sakura Samurai game, VVVVV, and Mutant Mudds. all of which Europe don't have, right now instead.

I would really like to know why we haven't go Wario Land or Kid Icarus Myths and Monsters yet. I really don't see a good enough reason right now, unless it is some sort of legal, licensing thing, which is still pretty annoying, but I know they can't do much to control it. I've never got to play Myths and Monsters.

Why is NA behind on literally everything?

Better question is, why should we even care anymore?

How could it be licensing issues? Most of those games are first party titles.

I'll admit I'm a little disappointed that we aren't getting much VC love at the moment, but I see no reason to complain, since we're getting brand new downloads instead (sure, not every single one has been a hit, cough Zombie Slayer Diox cough, but not every single VC release has exactly been a classic either). I do really want most of these games, but I'd rather wait in case there's a period with no new downloadable games coming out, then they could fall back on VC to keep us happy (EU is in a '3DS Download' drought right now, and they're getting showered with VC games, and maybe NOA sees a similar period coming for us in the future). At least next week's download is sure to be great with Colors! 3D hitting, and Ketzal's Corridors along with Night Sky should be following not long after.

Yep.

Seems to mostly be a cascading thing, stuff starts out in Japan and trickles down through Europe, and then to North America. It's (apparently) not always as smooth as that, but that's the general idea.

Is a bit strange that at the very least Wario Land hasn't come out yet, given that it came out in Europe around the same time that Europe and NA VC releases were coming at about the same time (I think it was Metroid the week before which came out in both areas). Also a bit strange how 3D Classics Kid Icarus isn't available to purchase, it was impossible for me to pre-order it but I still would happily buy it, it's almost as if Nintendo don't want to make money on it.
