It is sad that Nintendo's not planning to do this, it was actually on my E3 hope to be list. I think Nintendo should do so, especially since Sony's PSV can play PS1 games.
Because it's not needed. NES was a gift to ambassadors, and the 3D classics were meant to have SNES games at one point.
At E3 2010, not many people know that there were a lot of games on display with a minor 3D effect added. These included the 6 3D classics, Mega man 2, Super Mario World, Mazo no Mursamejo (Mystery of Muramasa castle), Zelda I, Punchout, and a few others. I bet those will come to the 3DS as 3D classics, or as NES/SNES games (Like Punchout and MegaMan 1)

At this point, I'd rather see remakes of classic N64 games than new 3DS games. Perhaps they could fit two on one cartridge for some of the smaller games - say both Mystical Ninja games?
Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.
I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!
