Hi everyone. I didn´t know where to put this topic, so I choose 3DS forum because it has more people.
This is my simple question:
Which to buy? the Sonic the Hedgehog games of Master System (VC Wii) or the Sonic the Hedgehog games of GameGear (VC 3DS)???
I heard the GameGear games where ports from Master System versions.
I´m talking about Sonic the Hedgehog 1 and 2 because there are other Sonics I know there are differents (like Sonic Chaos or Double Trouble).

In my opinion, Sonic 1 is slightly better on Game Gear, but you can't really go wrong with either of them. There's some differences like the special stages and some of the level layouts, but not enough to pay too much attention to. Some of the bosses in the Game Gear version are noticeably easier though.
If you MUST play Sonic 2, get the Master System version. The Game Gear version is stupidly hard because the camera is way too zoomed in, making the levels fustrating because you simply can't see what is coming at you and where it is coming from. But I don't like Sonic 2 at all in the first place...
Ok, then the only difference is the zoomed camera and some details. The zoom in this kind of games is important to see the complete level (that is a reason I play Muttant Mudds in Wii U directly in the TV instead the gamepad).

Sonic 1 is my favorite 8-bit Sonic game. The only real difference between the two is that the screen is bigger in the Master System version otherwise most differences are cosmetic.
Don't go anywhere near Sonic 2 for the Game Gear. The smaller screen makes the game absurdly hard where the difficulty on the Master System is far more manageable.
Sonic Chaos is interchangeable between the versions if I recall correctly.
The 8-bit Sonic games are quite underrated in my opinion.

Yeah, if I remember correctly the Game Gear version is also zoomed in more than the Master System version of Sonic 1. Not to the level Sonic 2 was, but still noticable. If it bothers you that much, go for the Master System version, both of them are fine.
I would go with the Master System versions for sure. The Game Gear versions, like others have said, are just too zoomed in and it causes some frustrating deaths.
