Why would $12 be a rip-off? You probably already pay a lot more for worse games on retail. I'll never understand why people refuse to pay money for quality.
Quantity > quality in people's eyes

No kidding, and it's f***ing infuriating. Now I know what Choco meant when he said consumers are the ones who are greedy.

It's the nature of downloading games on the eShop that makes $12 on the eShop seem like so much more money than 12 physical dollars. You can't return or trade in an eShop download, it sounds like he uses eShop cards instead of a credit card, and he may not be able to just go to a store whenever he feels like it, so he can't just throw more money onto his 3DS with a snap of his fingers, he may not have a ton of money to spend on video games, so he's cautious about how he spends it, and that can add up to make a consumer not too thrilled with buying the most expensive game on a downloadable service. Also, he's not completely sold on RR, so he's waiting for the similar and hopefully less expensive predecessor before deciding to give RR a go. Nothing wrong with that in my book.
Thanks for trying to understand my position Birdman!
Money is money is... money? The eShop is a step in the right direction for downloadable titles, but when the developer is paying next to nothing for distribution, that's a savings that should be passed on to the consumer. Wayforward could potentially have made more money by lowering the price to boost net sales.
Case in point: Team Fortress 2 and Steam's whole sales model.
Uh, problem. Multiple developers have confirmed that Nintendo set the prices with DSiware.
Also, what savings? Don't expect the price to automatically lower just because the process is cheaper. Demand is still demand and this game still sold for $12

Well, look at it this way: Nintendo (probably with WayForward's approval) has discounted Mighty Switch Force! on the eShop, and if they ever decide to discount DSiWare titles as part of their "Game of the Weekend" deals, Risky's Revenge is looking like a promising candidate for that offer. This of course is dependent on Nintendo offering DSiWare titles as Game of the Weekend deals, however.

An offer like that would be a nice way to put the spotlight on DSi games that gamers with only a 3DS would otherwise overlook.
The deal on Mighty Switch Force pushed me to buy it, and I'm very glad that I did because it's an excellent game.
Well, theres always a chance RR will be offered discounted when they release Pirates Curse. Seriously though... has anyone heard anything at all as to why DSi-ware has never been on sale? Quite interesting methinks...
