Topic: Where Are the Game Gear Games?

Sega has stated they will put Game Gear games on 3DS VC, but there is still no word on release date. Anyone know anything about when they will be released? Because I really need some handheld Sonic.

Game Gear games would reduce double the battery power of the 3DS so they changed their minds.

They'll come eventually; I wouldn't be surprised if that was yet another thing to come in the late November system update. They may still be working on the emulator so we can play them on our 3DSs, for all we know.

I don't think that's true and it doesn't make much sense as to why that should reduce so much of the battery life.

He's being sarcastic there about the original Game Gear's battery life. I'm sure that, when they're inevitably released, they don't use any more battery life than any other non-3D 3DS title.

@DarkSquid: It was a joke. The Game Gear had notoriously short battery life, much like the 3DS. Truth is, Game Gear games would last far longer on the 3DS battery than on their native Game Gear's.

I know where they are! Stuck in limbo yet to be released like so many other games that should have come to VC.
I'd like to hear Konami's excuse for never giving us Castlevania Bloodlines.

They probably want us to start Operation Castlefall or something to see if there's enough support for the game, lol.

As far as I am aware, they were only ever announced for Japan back in March, but never showed up with SEGA saying nothing else about it. I now dont think the Game Gear will come to the 3DS at all, but if it does, I will be pleasantly suprised.

Game Gear games were specifically announced by Sega of America back in March.

The games aren't and weren't limited to Japan. There was also another announcement back in June or so stating what the first games would be. There has been no announcement of their cancellation, so that's pure speculation, and definitely unfounded.

I don't know what's holding them up, but I think they're guaranteed to still arrive. Maybe Sega delayed them or maybe Nintendo has a specific release schedule that Sega can't do anything about.

Ah, so they were announced for the US - the only official press release from SEGA I could previously find was Japan. You're quite right, I am speculating, not claiming to know for certain. I really want to see the Game Gear on the 3DS VC and hope we hear something soon.

I dunno, I have this feeling thier going to get cancelled...

why? if you don't like the game, you don't have to buy it, other people may want it though

Have you seen that game? The music and sound effects are terrible, and the NES levels don't translate well to the Game Gear's lower resolution screen. They are full of vertical scrolling which completely goes against the levels' designs.

The game wasn't even made by Capcom. They outsourced it to some obscure company called "US Gold".

then as I said, if you don't like it, simply don't buy it if they put it on the VC
