Nintendo had done nothing on the Eshop but make gb and gbc virtual console games, but I thought that nintendo said that they were going to do virtual console games for the gamegear and turbografx(not sure about turbografx though). It would even be cool if nintendo said they were doing atari lynx virtual console games but i'm getting off topic. Do any of you guys know what happened to the games? Are you feeling the same way? or could you not care less about the other old handhelds? I mean I really wanted to play a sonic handheld that wasn't expensive.
The 3DS VC release list is already getting pathetic. All that's left as far as confirmed possible releases is WarioLand, Trip world, Kirby's block ball and Dr. Mario. The rest are Gamegear games and none of which have been released yet. Sega sure isn't showing much support lately. I don't know what's going on.

While researching an article I found a release list from last year that actually showed quite a few Game Gear titles with a 'Summer 2011' release window. As someone who grew up with Sega in the early 90s I'm hoping these will eventually come through, but the unexplained delay is slightly worrying.
The Game Gear found a better gig playing the star of the second Hyperdimension Neptunia game.
Yes, being the star to a sequel of a game with a Metacritic rating of 40 is more desirable than being on the 3DS.

There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.
Sewiously though, all who thought Sega would actually release these games on the 3DS are fools! Nintendo destroyed Sega and now bit by bit they're getting back at them. Those sore losers.

It's not Nintendo's fault. SEGA and NEC's fault. They are being lazy and procrastinating, and saying "meh, let's port them later" and later, they say "Meh, let's port them later". Stop blaming Nintendo.
And yes, I grew up with SEGA, and I miss them too. But these companies are just being lazy.
I wouldn't be surprised if Sega/NEC doesn't have the original versions so they're having to reserve engineer the games.

I don't know about the Game Gear but there shouldn't be any problems with the Turbografx. They were able to release them on the Wii without any problems so they should be able to release them on the 3DS too.

And Sega put a few Game Gear games in Sonic Mega Collection for GameCube, PS2, and Xbox. So they obviously still have the ROMs lying around somewhere.
Game Gear! Yes! I am quite excited for Sonic Triple Trouble. It doesn't look perfect, but its one of the few Sonic games I haven't played over the years (never had a Game Gear) and I can't wait. Sonic was one of my favorite childhood heroes (games, TV, comics). Shinobi looks cool too.
The sad thing is while they (Sega, etc) dont release legal downloads via 3DS or other means they are only justifiying illigal downloading of their Roms for use in emulators. It was the same for me with NeoGeo titles until they released them via wii's VC (and compilation retail) . Even though I played on occasion NeoGeo games via rom downloads as soon as I was able to purchase them legally and play them on a system I owned... I did. Sure not everybody would, there are always people who want everything for free, but I, like a lot of people out there who dabble with emulators because there are no other means of playing some of these titles anymore would rather play an official rom thats works as it should and did rather than something that just works.

Some people buy old consoles and games rather than using Roms & emulators. There is no way Sega or anybody else is justifying a person's illegal downloading of ROMs by not making their games readily accessible. That's just silly.
I hope they do actually get Game Gear games though, I'm looking to play Dragon Crystal. I started playing fatal labyrinth but I haven't touched it in a while and I find it easier to play games on my 3DS rather than a PS2.
