Well, it looks like Nintendo played it smart and re-released the GBC version. Fine. If it weren't for Wario Land 4 I'd be hoping for this right now.

I own the original Warioland II on GB, i've never played the GBC DX version, it would be interesting to see how it compares the GB version. Then again, i'm not a huge fan of the warioland series anyway and warioland II has so many possible endings that I never bothered to find 'em all, but I did beat this game once through.

Giving the fact that the first Wario Land hasn't come out in North America yet I'm not going to get excited just yet.

Well it looks like it's out this week for Japan, Europe and Australia won't be far behind. As For Warioland in US, just be a little more patient, i'm sure you guys will get it soon.

Y'know, I'm a Wario fan and all, but seriously. Nintendo NEEDS to release the titles to EVERYONE at the same time. I mean, if Japan is first, then that's fine; that's where the majority of the games came from. But it's really tiring to see that Japan, then Europe and everyone else but America get it at around the same time, and then the US gets it last about 2 weeks (or more) later. It's getting ridiculous, especially since the US has the lowest amount of Virtual Console games on the 3DS. Don't we matter too, Nintendo?

@UKD Well there's a reason why you guys don't have as many VC games as us and that's because you're getting all the good 3DSware games, where as Europe and Australia do not have games like Sakura Samurai and Mutant Mudds. Count yourselves lucky, cos I really want to play those 3DSware games and Nintendo hasn't done anything about them whatsoever. Oh well, we are getting Defenders of Oasis on Game Gear here, not sure when but it looks great for a GG game plus I LOVE turn-based RPGs, gonna get it as soon as it arrives!

It's not great that they have differing release schedules as you might not get a game you want, but this isnt all about the US. Europe has more VC games yes, but we have less 3DSWare as a consequence. Do remember we still dont have VVVVVV and Mutant Mudds among others. It can be annoying to not get a game, but dont assume its just your region in which people are affected as such.

Wario Land 2 is probably my favorite GBC game and favorite Wario Land game. All of the secret exits, treasures and other stuff make this a game with lots of content and charm. I hope this comes to NA soon, just to let everyone know. Wario Land 3 is already available on the Japanese eShop. So that means we can have all 4 Wario Land games ( excluding Shake It and Virtual Boy) as long as you are an ambassador. Though Europe has to wait for 3 and NA needs to wait for 2 and 3.

You know that wario land is coming next week to NA, right? That's the confirmed date.

I've cleared a few stages now and this game is just as fun as I remember it. Love the more prominent story and the fact that all the levels are presented as chapters. Those cut-scenes they occasionally have are also pretty charming.

But what takes the cake is the size of the game: there are tons of levels and different endings, along with treasure, and clearing the game 100% will take some time. It'll probably take me a whole lot longer to clear this game than the first Wario Land, but I'm not gonna rush through it, as I just enjoy it too much to complete it too fast .

This release also brings the (European) VC one step closer to Wario Land 3, which I'm also pretty excited about, as I've heard many call it equally great or even better than Wario Land 2. Definitely another GBC game worth my money, then. But for now, I'm perfectly content with the second Wario Land.

As I've said before, my favorite games of the series from most to least favorite go 4, 1, Shake, 2, 3.

Compared to other GBC platformers, Wario Land 3 is still pretty decent. However, as a Wario Land game, I feel it falls short of the others. They tried to make it different enough to 2 while still keeping the same gimmick.

@Bass_XO Regardless, I'm still interested in playing WL3 when it finally arrives in the eShop. Being similar to WL2 doesn't seem like an issue to me, as I enjoy that game's mechanic of being immortal.

Yeah, I'm going to download Wario Land 3 as soon as it comes to the eShop too. Its just not my favorite of the series.

Aside from my never ending mad & spicy hot love I have for shake it!, i'd place WL1 in 2nd place. WL4 blew me away with the entire 8-16 bit transition since i was so used to 8-bit WL1-3 that taking that 'portable SNES-like' leap knocked my socks off. During the beginning of the game, I was awe struck by how polished and more finely tuned the controls and Wario's abilitie were aside from the giant visual upgrade, 16-bit tunes, Awesome SFX AND the fact that i was playing it on my DS Lite's super bright and extremely colorfull screens. Until it hit me....WL4 is far, 'far' easier than WL2 and especially in comparison to the incredibly challenging and frustrating snooze fest that was WL3.

WL4 simplified things and took the 'less is more' approach in terms of level design and the like. It felt dumbed down, almost casualfied to make it more user friendly for those who were new to the franchise.. That's honestly my only bogus bobby beef(er?)with the game.... 3 was such a challenging on your toes beast, while 4 takes a trip to pre-school. You now have heart containers, but you'll rarely ever die.....One thing i have to point out though is how amazing the bosses are in WL4. Which are the most bizzare and insanely awesome creations the franchise has seen thus far.

Anyways! WL1 was fantastic(And so was that amazing commercial that went with it!), 2 was a pretty good sequal, 3 i found was frustrating, tedious, boring and 'too' long for it's own good, 4 is great 'easy difficuly aside' and Shake it is a bloody masterpiece and groundbreaking to the 2D Platformer genre in terms of tilt/motion controls. My only quirk with that one is that it doesn't retain the more bizzare nature or quirkyness of 4 or any of the previous outings. It went for a more cartoony and light hearted approach, which is fine by me.

I've never been much of a fan of Wario platformers, partly because they're barely platformers, in the traditional sense. I'm definitely downloading WL1, though. I should probably go back and replay WL4. I didn't really like it when I was younger, partly because I found it to be confusing.

The level where you have to carry the small bird back to the entrance or something....think it's the first level in the 2nd set of stages....
Basically there's purple blocks in my way, and i kinda killed all those enemies that get rid of purple blocks...HELP? doesn't seem to be anything i can do?
