Now that I have Wario Land 4 (Nintendo 3DS Ambassador), I definitely plan to purchase Wario Land 2 and Wario Land 3 from the Nintendo eShop (I do not remember playing either one before).
Heh, is anyone else really excited? Also, when do you think that we could expect Wario Land 2 to come? Maybe February or March?

I plan on getting the other games too.
Seems like 3 is a very love it or hate it sort of game, from what I've seen.

I used to have carts of all three Gameboy Warios but sold them like an idiot.I was desperate for cash then and I didn't think I'd miss them that much. Then later I hated myself for it. My only hope now is when they eventually arrive on the shop. Hurry up Nintendo!

I haven't actually played 2, but 3 is one of my favorite GBC games and I am definitely looking forward to it.

I didn't like Wario Land 3 that much.
The series goes 4, 1, 2, 3 in terms of most liked to least liked for me.
Wario Land 3 is still better than many other third party platformers though, especially on the GBC.
Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.
I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!

Wario Land 1 was fantastic, Wario Land 'Shake it!' was absolutely amazing(Best 2D Platformer on the Wii)....
And so far I'd say Wario Land 2 is in ways better than WL1...Well, sorta...You see, Wario's controls don't feel quite as fine tuned, kinetic or as polished. They're just 'different' and i applaud that, considering it would of been stale and way too familar had they stripped the exact same Wario controls from the first instead. Other than that, it's safe to say that WL2 is more bizzaro' than the first, i really love the odd and quirky power ups Wario can get., they really shake up the platforming/gameplay and make things more fresh and fun. It definitly feels like it's own game, a different refreshing beast in comparison to the first...Plus you can't die, how's them April O'nel apples?
The downside? well I just got the GBC version of WLII in the mail a few days ago and i tried sticking it in my GBA SP, to my suprise it wouldn't fit. I then looked at the bottom of the cart to notice that it was bent/broken on each side. WTF dude!....Sigh* So after my little A Nightmare on WaveStreet 'Freddy Krueger' Meltdown i ended up popping in the regular B&W GameBoy version instead. Sigh*...I really wanted to experience this one in color.
Time to get an eBay Refundy'!....Grrr.Then again, maybe i can take a hammer and give it a good whack on each side. ugh, after checking out some videos of the GBC version of WLII i now realise how badly i'm missing out. What a difference the color makes.
Anyways, I've got WL3 and Wl4 on cart as well, so I'm all set.

I didn't really like Wario Land 3 that much either. It's not only confusing, but boring to play.
IMO, I think Shake It and 4 are the best in the series, but 2 is really good in its own way, too. 1's okay, but I never played the VB one. Still, I'd say all together the Wario Land series is great.
I'm just not sure why some people love 3 so much. I just didn't understand it at all.

At the rate NOA is releasing VC games we'll probably never get Wario Land.

Will a VC game get released this coming week? Probably not if there is a 3DSWare game being released that day.
Nintendo sees VC games as filler material when there are no 3DSWare games scheduled to be released that week.

As far as the GB WL's go.
1 > 2 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>3
At least WL3's Animal Golf mini game is more enjoyable than the bland 'Memory' and 'Number Guessing' mini games in WL2. That seems to be it's only real advantage imo, the rest feels like a chore to complete...WL3 looks worse, sounds worse, it's confusing, tedious, uncreative and nowhere near as fun as WL2...Which i feel ls more ideal to compare to since the two are simular gameplay wise, rather than 1 which is a straight up platformer and a great one at that.
As for WL4.....I'm saving that one for a special moment.I know it's going to blow the lolly pop lid off of WL1 & Wl2....Shake it! however? I doubt it.

And that's a stupid business idea. There's no reason why we can't get VC games with the 3DSWare games.

Tell me about it. Problem is, EVERY week since the eShop has launched has been like this, apart from once I think - when Pyramids launched.Another issue is that Nintendo arent dividing the schedule for 3DSWare and VC, so it ends up being weeks and weeks without one or the other.
I make Pixel Art on occasion, and sometimes sell them as Game Assets.
Help bring Dragon Quest back to the West, so we can all resume having fun. :)

I don't disagree with you. But its what Nintendo is mostly doing these days. 3DSWare and 3DS VC games on the same day are very rare.

Hey, everyone, I just found out that Wario Land 3 released on the Japanese 3DS Virtual Console today. I found out from the news on Super Mario Wiki. I wonder why North America still doesn't have the first one?

I'm just about finished up with WL4 and while it seems to do just about everything right and then some, it completely skimps out on the challenge....the difficulty itself is a complete push over in comparison to the previous WL3, it's a flat out night and day difference....Which is my only real gripe against the game 'decen't soundtrack' aside. I personally would of given Wario less hearts/life, that easily would of bumped up the difficulty and kept you on your toes while making you much more cautious in the process. Also, i beat it in 3 gaming sessions(haven't quite 100%'d it yet), where as WL3 took 5x as long to actually 100% it was pretty brutal! ....WL3 consisted of a LOT of annoying backtracking though considering you had to score 4 different keys in each level which resulted in lots of stage revisiting....Not to mention the platforming itself was far more challenging, tricky and the treasure box and key's hidden through out each level were far more difficult to find.
I still need to collect about 6 more CD's in WL4 and whatever else it has in store and I'm done. One thing is for sure, it's the easiest Wario Land title of the 5 without question...

Just 100%'d WL4. Great game! Far less frustrating than WL3, the graphical 16-bit upgrade and art direction/style including the fantastic animation and lush worlds instantly wowed me. Controls are the most polished and tight they've ever been in comparison to WL1-3, the SFX are crazy-good, the bosses themselves are thee' most bizzare and interesting in the entire franchise not to mention they look outstanding, memorable and mounstrous.
The bad? Well....This is definitly a cake walk in comparison to WL2 and especially WL3. It's like they slightly bumped down the gameplay complexity to make it more user friendly and less frustrating. It's great that Wario can finally die instead of being invincable...But with 8 hearts he still almost feels that way....I would of personally Mario'd it up and gave him 3 hearts! or 4 at the most. The music while pretty decent here and there i feel could of been a bit better and the adventure didn't last quite as long as WL2 adn WL3(OK...3 was way too long for it's own good) because collecting the stages treasures isn't exactly tough stuff, although the bonus CD's riddled through out each stage can definitly be the tricky jiffy.
Shake it!(By a Masterpiece landslide!) >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 4 + 1 > 2 >>>>>>>>>>>>>> 3
Here's hoping they release WL Virtual Boy as a download title on the 3DS. Because that aside, the only 2 other Wario platformers that I have yet to tackle & shackle are Wario World for the Gamecube and Wario: Master in disguise for the DS.

^Have you played it on hard yet?
But as I've said before I'm just not much of a fan of 3. It just doesn't click with me at all. Shake It and 4 are my favorites by far, but 1 and 2 are no pushovers themselves.
Here's hoping we get the first 3 on here before they get the GBA games (and WL4!) up in Japan. That would be irritating!

WL4 has a hard mode? Man, i would of loved that from the start! It being too easy is honestly my only gripe. And tell me about it, WL3 frustrated and annoyed me to no end...It wasn't because of the actual challenge itself. It's because of the amount of stage revisiting you had to do since you could only collect '1' of the 4 treasures in each stage at a time....They went a bit too overkill with that. Plus it was sooooo Linear, you basically had to listen to the mysterious figure based to on where to go "Head to the fridged Sea" "Go to the blah blah blah" rinse repeat considering going to most of the other stages was completely pointless because you didn't have that certain ability to obtain the next Key/treasure. Bluh!
And I Hated how Wario was basically stripped of all his abilities from the start. Normally i don't have a problem at all with this game design as seen in the marvelous metroid and Legend of Zelda series where it's works absolutely fantastic, but in WL3 it just didn't work for me. Overall it's a solid game I guess, but for me personally i just don't like it....Lost a lot of that quirky Wario charm that 1 & 2 had previously in the process.
And I don't know if I'll ever bother with Wario Master of disguise....it looks really cheap, not to mention Wario World but i could be wrong about that one.
