Hello, welcome to a new topic talking about future Virtual Console downloads. We'll talk about all th upcoming classic games for the 3DS eShop, such as maybe the Mega Man series, Super Mario Bros. series, Legend of Zelda, or just any game coming soon to the 3DS Virtual Console.

Most games are not announced ahead of time (e.g. Super C last week), so there probably will be more than just the Mega Man games. Still, though, I also have been disappointed with the slow rate of VC releases on the 3ds. Why haven't any SNES games (for example) been released yet?

Its only January. I think its too early to talk about the entire year being in drought. If you were going to talk about the Winter drought, maybe I'd agree, but for all you know the spring or summer might bring a new crop of games.

In Japan we don't even get games announced until the week before.Just be patient, there's a 3DS Direct coming soon. Maybe we'll all get news then.

SNES games? Not a bad idea, but I'd like GBA games on 3DS VC too. And we don't know there's a Nintendo 3DS Direct coming soon, for all we kow it could be a month from now.

Drought? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? The reason they aren't releasing 4 VC a week like on wii is to prevent a burnout of titles. The only droughts we had was the one from Febuary-May, where we got no GB games

@TheDreamingHawk Burnout? There are 100's and 100's of games on both NES and Game Boy/Game Boy Color. It takes years to release that many. That's why they should be releasing 4 a week.
@Tsuchinoko Yes that's what I meant by the winter drought. And you're right but I just wish we got VC games at a fast rate because there are so many, hundreds of NES and Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and SEGA Game Gear games. Also there are plenty of GBA games that would make sense being on the 3DS.

They can't release licensed titles or those from defunct companies. Those comprise a large section of the Game Boy library, but people seem to forget that. And it's not like Nintendo can force companies like Konami to actually release their games (like Contra or Operation C) if they just plain refuse to.

I'm more annoyed at the lack of Game Gear games, and new systems like the Neo Geo Pocket Color or the GBA. Those could at least fill the holes from the GB releases,

@Spark_of_Spirit That's actually what bothers me most. In almost a year we have only gotten three games. Also some of those defunct companies are owned by other companies like Konami owning Huson Soft (creators of Adventure Island, Bonk, Bomberman) . The Donkey Kong Land trilogy will most likely not come to 3DS because it was developed be Rare.

Not made by Nintendo. Most of the ones they can release are already out.

I dream of being able to play ALttP and Super Metroid in 3D...

I don't think there's a person in the world who owns a 3DS and doesn't salivate at the thought of being able to play all of their favorite GBA games on it, even just the Nintendo developed ones. And yeah, I know there's no exact date on the 3DS Direct, just going by the information that was given on the WiiU direct where Iwata apparently stated that it was coming soon.

Hey you know there are lots of VC games coming out lately... Super C came out last week and Ice Climber is coming out today and Mega Man 2 is coming out tommorrow. I think I might change the topic.

I am most excited for Mega Man 2. It was voted one of the best games on the NES, #4 by IGN. This is probably my favorite NES game besides Super Mario Bros. 2 USA and Super Mario Bros. 3. However Ice Climber comes out today too, which is a platformer! (Platforming is my favorite genre BTW.)

Are we gonna get anymore FPS on VC, like Doom or Duke Nukem

Ice Climber would be so much better on the Vita.

I think on the upcoming 3DS Direct Nintendo will announce new 3DS VC games, as well as new 3DS games and 3DS eShop games. Maybe they'll announce something big for eShop like GBA or SNES titles or maybe a slew of anticipated games like Super Mario Bros. 2 USA and Super Mario Bros. 3 and Zelda Oracle of Ages/Seasons, Kirby's Dream Land 2, and possibly Earthbound.

I'm glad you started this topic since the previous American and European 3DS VC topics died.
