So that's where we got the ground-pipe piranha plants. Also, good to see the fighterflies in something other than Mario Bros.

Has anyone run this in original resolution? It's brilliant! Puts a border of an original GameBoy around the display and the image of the game is set back slightly using the 3D effect of the screen!

To run in original resolution, hold Start & Select during boot the same as with DS games.

Other controls include holding down L+R and pressing X to enable or disable restore points and holding L+R and pressing Y to toggle green screen effect.

I like the fact that it puts a nice GameBoy border around the game. However, I don't reemeber the screen looking so small. Another thing I noticed too if you change over to original GameBoy screen color, maybe it's just me, but the colors seem a little/slightly brighter than the original monochromatic screen.

Can you map the run and jump to different buttons? The current lay-out is seriously bugging me.

Oh man, I blazed through this one last night and it only took me around an hour, but that's 12 stages for ya! :p
When I was a kid back in the late 80's, i could never get past the 3rd world....Probably because my gamer skills were nowhere near as good as they are now, and that tough to see monochrome green display, coupled by the horrrible motion blur was the crazy whacked out icing on the cake. The original GB boasted some craptastic screen technology, yet at the time it just didn't seem as noticable.

Anyways, I opted for the larger screen with the original pea soup effect. :D
As for the game itself, I've always loved the quirkyness of SL along with the memorable catchy tunes! Along with the trippy effects, like after your enemie as been killed, seconds later it will make a wierd SFX and hop off the screen.lol...it's so odd ballish and whacky...And when I hit up the 4rth world i was left scratchin my head because of the odd samurai-like setting, and I just wish the game were longer....But for what it is, it's pretty fun and can get a bit challenging in the later levels as expected.

I'd 7.5 it! B-)

As awesome as that Gameboy boarder and the 3D effect that comes with it, and the fact that it's in it's original resolution are, the screen ist jut too small....I'm pretty sure the original GB has a larger screen...Actually scratch that, i just compared my original GB's screen to my 3DS's from top to bottom and the GB's screen isn't that much smaller at all....So the the default 'larger' resolution that Super Mario Land is set to seems more in tune with the original's GB size.

I tried playing it in the GB Boarder mode but it just was too damn tiny, Yet it seemed like an awesome emulation especially with the green chrome effect.....Where they totaly reduced the blurr effect by a margin(which is a good thing) yet still retaining the effect to get that nostalgia juice flowin.
