There is no news. I really dont think that SNES games will come to the 3DS since we havent seen any. So far it just looks like NES games. On top of that there hasn't even been an announcement for SNES games coming to the 3DS. Of course you could always just get it on the Wii VC on either the Wii or Wii U.

I don't have the Wii U yet, but if I buy it on the Wii can I play it on the Wii U and keep my game save?

Well if you buy it on the Wii and do the Wii transfer to the Wii U you can play the game on the Wii U but in the Wii mode. I dont think the game saves transfer though.

Hmm, what about other game saves for the Wii? Such as my data for the Wii fit..? Will that transfer over to the Wii U?

I thought I read somewhere that the game files do not transfer over but I could be wrong. Maybe try googling it and see what you get. Either that or check Nintendo's site.

Even if Nintendo want to keep SNES VC titles exclulsive to the Wii U to help the struggling control I think its a bad business move not the release Link to the Past one or two months before its sequel its released in the same console, it is such wasted opportunity for synergy

i'd love to play this game on the 3DS... before A Link Between Worlds gets released

Nintendo has yet to state whether or not A Link Between Worlds will be a "real"/"true" sequel... or if it'll be an entirely new story/experience with new characters, etc.
When someone asked them about it, they refused to comment on that (if i remember correctly)

Yes, Nintendo is known for not releasing game details on upcoming games aside from official press releases, etc.

Actually during the last Nintendo Direct Iwata said that this game takes place many years after A Link to the Past which I am guessing that means a sequel.

On the Pokemon Nintendo Direct... Iwata said that A Link to the Past takes place many years after A Link to the Past? I don't get it... :/

It was considered as a 3D Classic up until they stopped making those. At this time however there are no SNES games on the 3DS, so I don't see how it would happen anytime soon. They wouldn't release the GBA version either seeing as it just comes with a worse version of the free DSiWare game.

The timeline is screwed once again...

What can you expect from a franchise that only adopted an official timeline to satisfy hard-core fans?

I got that free DSiWare game, but I lost it before I made a Club Nintendo account so I lost it. My brother still has the game downloaded, but I just hope that there would be some way to transfer just one thing from one 3DS to another without transferring the whole system. I think that it would be a good idea to make the Four Swords game purchable, since it'll be pointless to have a game with a remake included. That's like Super Mario Advance coming to the Virtual Console. Since both Super Mario Bros. 2 and Mario Bros (which arrived in the Japanese virtual console five months ago, but should be coming to the west in only about another two years) are at the Virtual Console, then there should be no reason to have Super Mario Advance. The same would go back with Super Mario Advance 4, and the other two if SNES games ever come to the 3DS.

I can't understand why nintendo aren't smarter with their promotions if i was in charge i would release a link to the past same day as the new one and if you download a link between worlds from the eshop you can download a link to the past for free.
