That's how they looked originally, so deal with it.

Since 14 years ago they didnt have to be played like that, and an emulation service from Nintendo really should be able to compete with a 14 year old system when it comes to playing their old games. Deal with THAT. ;D

Whining over a minor thing like Color is honestly stupid. Nintendo's VC services have a habut of making it feel like the original, so that's why they did it like this. They don't change unless it's required to play the game. You don't have to buy the game, you know.

Some people may have first played GB games in colour, so there's the original experience for them. You cant honesty say that the addition of colour is a 'minor thing' though can you? Seeing as Nintendo released a new handheld as soon as it could reasonably handle it. The policy of only adding what's necessary to play the game just makes the service inferior to others willing to actually go the extra mile - you cant praise Nintendo for putting the least amount of effort in thats possible for a service they provide. Also, no - we dont have to buy the games, but we can most assuredly comment on what we're recieving as consumers.

I downloaded this game Thursday (7/12) but didn't get around to it till last night (Sunday). Very impressed so far! I should have been playing this all weekend instead of Mighty Switch Force! _{(Flame shield immediately goes up!)}

Maybe so, but the color on a GBC isn't as good for GB games as a super GB. That would seem more reasonable

You NEED the manual in this game. It's basically required to beat this game.

Well, like every VC game, it comes with a virtual manual, so that's not really an issue.

I use it to learn the functions of items, since I'm not familiar with the series' terminology (wheat heals 30 HP, for example), but other than that, I don't think it's really required to beat it.

The comments in this thread are really tempting me to download this.

I'm no fanboy. I just don't want people on this site to become as dumb and as whiny as some people who post on Nintendo's facebook page. Comments written over there are mostly complaints, with the exception of a few posts they make. I like NL for the calm nature, and I don't want it to break apart. Trust me, I could be more angry than LJM Or the Kitty if I wanted too. It's an opinion, so that's fine. We can have different opinions if we want.

I agree. I'm sure that there are other threads where you can discuss whether or not these games should be in color.

This thread is about the Sword of Hope II, and I don't think the color discussion really belongs here (it's very rare in it's physical form, so I'd think you'd be happy to play it color, or no color), and I'd hate to see this thread get locked because of an argument about a largely unrelated topic.

There's a difference between complaints and whining (I trust that you understand it). This is a 20-year-old game, so I think it's reasonable to question why Nintendo couldn't have made an effort to touch it--and every other old GB title it's releasing--up, even in the simplest of ways.

Adding color may have increased the cost of each game. I'm thinking each $2.99 game would cost $3.99 and each $3.99 game would cost $4.99.
