A game coming out this week on the Eshop. It's apparently an RPG, and the battle system reminds me a lot of the first mother game for a weird reason (Auto button). Anyone else excited for it? I'm hoping the prequel will come out as soon as this one sells well.

I'll need a review first, but I'm interested in this one.
Relying on the opinion of one man to buy or not buy a game...tut tut tut.
I'll be getting it - assuming it's actually out in Europe this week, and if not I shall wait. :3
It's caught my eye. I might get it if it helps to bring other rpgs to the e shop.

Well, not just one review, around 3 or 4 (and opinions from others who play it). I'll probably get it, as nothing else this week really interests me (unless UFO breaks out of mediocrity, and Johnny Kung Fu manages to be fun).

Apparently I commented on the wrong thread! Here's what I said over there:
"I just started playing it and I am VERY pleased! Obviously it's very simplistic - the exploration is in the style of an old school interactive fiction game. This is essentially interactive fiction with RPG style battles and character development. If any of this sounds appealing to you, I promise you will love it! I've been playing for just a few minutes and I am already thrilled."
Also it's been a couple of hours since that post, and I am continuing to enjoy the game thoroughly. I've recently been playing through the Final Fantasy series (well, replaying in most cases, since I've played many of them before) and right now I've been playing 3, and I've been pretty much binge playing. Interestingly, I bought Sword of Hope 2 and decided to give it a quick try, and ended up playing it ALL day. It's REALLY addictive and a lot of fun! I highly recommend it!
Same here, I love it so much, and I am currently in the underground tomb in the desert. I'd say it's one of the best GB RPGS not made by squaresoft
I just finished that part too, and now I'm taking a break, though I will probably continue later this evening. It really is an amazing game! I wish I had heard of it before!

Believe it or not, boxed copies can go up to $300 sometimes. Really uncommon, but I guess that's why it came first.
Now this will help me get my RPG fix before I import FFII for the famicom.

I do love RPGs, but I haven't played anything really old school besides FFIV Advance. Do you think I'd enjoy this? I've been waiting for another 3DS RPG since I beat Tales of The Abyss.

I'm interested in this as well now. I saw a gameplay video on youtube and got reminded of the first Dragon Quest as soon as I saw a battle giving you 1exp and 1gold. How much grinding would you say is involved? (not that I'm going to be purchasing it anytime soon; PAL region woo...)
always thought I'd change to Gyarados after I turned 20 but hey, this is more fitting I guess. (also somebody registered under the original Magikarp name and I can't get back to it anymore orz)

Only the Blops and Skeletons give you 1 EXP, in the temple just a few clicks away, you can gain 3-5 EXP. It actually jumps on you quickly, but fun.

I decided to cave in and get it, and I'm enjoying it more than I thought I would.
The game feels new to me, as it's both old school and first person (An RPG genre I haven't played before). I also like the fact that there aren't any heavy penalties for dying (no loss of exp, money, ect.), so you can only do better each time you go out.
I just got through the first dungeon (at least what I assume was supposed to be the first). I won't give away any story elements, but it was filled with Blops, Skeletons, Spiders, and Big Bats.

I am extremely impressed with this game. Well worth the 3$. I'm having a blast playing it! I'm drawing out a little map in a notebook, very old school style. I highly recommend it to any RPG fan.
Currently Playing: Splatoon, Need for Speed Rivals
RPG's (well made ones) are always ganna be great stuff. :3
I cant wait for this to come to Europe (or Defenders of Oasis ~ whichever gets out first).
Since Square Enix isn't interested, this is all we have. D:
