This.
I see nothing special, any news, or anything for virtual console fans.
However, it shouldn't be locked, half of the internet is rumors anyway.

Guys, it's very clear. If your a virtual console fan, now its a time to talk about why Nintendo is slowing down the process. Apparently, they are not really making stuff easy because they are making ROM files (.nes is the NES game file,.gba is Game Boy Advance, etc.) , and .app files (Nintendo 3DS SD Card directory.) from scratch. Usually, from scratch is when you make it all over again. Japan, well, is another story. They make things easier, and don't make it from scratch (They usually copy the Virtual Console directories, edit them, and sell the copied one.). Anyway, why are they doing this? I mean, come on, Nintendo! Japan is making it easier! While Reggie Fils-Aime is making it harder. Can we, well... do something? Make up your mind by emailing them at their website by contacting them (At the bottom of the Home Page), and calling them at their number by 1-800-255-3700. I don't have a problem with the release schedule, I still have about 6 games that I want that I'm behind on Downloading as it is. The thing is though we don't was a repeat on the Wii where everything was pumped out in the first few years and then we only got a new release every once in awhile. They released the 8-bit Nintendo games and frankly I haven't been interested in any of the Gameboy releases since then since I can get color stuff. I really think that they probably have a lot more ready they released that they are sitting on until the right time. We are going to eventually get Super Nintendo and Genesis games eventually, but I really don't want them until most of the big Nintendo and Master System games come out so I really just enjoying the current release schedule.

I doubt that Sega Master System games will come out for the Virtual Console. It basically has the same exact games as the Game Gear... sort of. The Game Gear is like the Master System... only portable. There are only a few games on the Master System that are "must haves" and didn't get a rerelease on the Game Gear... or better yet, the Genesis like with Ecco the Dolphin. I'd rather get the 16-bit Ecco the Dolphin than the 8-bit Game Gear or Master System versions.

Not sure if these were Game Gear but I would like Alex Kidd in Miracle World, Wonderboy 2 & 3, Penguinland, Fantasy Zone, Quartet and a few others. While Nintendo was better, the Master System still had a number of great games.

I'm going through now and buying all the TG16 VC games I wanna get, because I don't think we're gonna see them on the Wii U's VC

There was a Fantasy Zone Gear, but I think it was different. Wonder Boy III did get released on GG, but only in Japan (where it wasn't released on SMS, despite that they bothered to code a soundtrack for the console's FM sound chip that would only run on Japanese consoles) and Europe. Penguin Land wasn't released on Game Gear, but oddly enough it did get a Japanese-exclusive Game Boy port. I hear the port wasn't very good, though.

I'd actually disagree with that. We all know that SNK is defiantly going to jump right in to the Wii U and possibly the 3DS Virtual Consoles since they are still making games for the Wii Virtual Console. I'm pretty sure that NEC said that they were going to make Virtual Console games for the 3DS, so if that's true, then it should be possible that the Wii U will also get these games. The TurboGrafx-16 was that "third wheel" when it came to video games. For example, when taken a Street Fighter II game, I read a website that related the Sega Genesis, SNES, and TurboGrafx-16 versions. While SNES one some categories such as best sound with Genesis winning a couple but not as many, I don't think that the TG16 version was the best in any category. I wouldn't wager my entire life on the TG16 on the Wii U VC, but it is highly possible.

NEC hasn't been in the games business since 2004, the middle of the PS2's lifespan.
It was Hudson Soft that was going to release TG16 VC games on 3DS until Konami officially dissolved them.
The TG16 SFII was impressive pretty much for being better than people expected out of TG16 HuCard/TurboChip game (that was at least arguable whether it was better than the Genesis version).

I disagree. SMS has plenty of good stuff that isn't on Game Gear (Zillion, Space Harrier 3D, Zaxxon 3D, Psycho Fox, Penguin Land, Missile Defense 3D, Gangster Town, Rescue Mission, Ghost House, Kenseiden, Phantasy Star 1, California Games, Alex Kidd in Miracle Wolrd, Golvellius, R-Type, Power Strike, Quartet, and Fantasy Zone II are good examples). Many SMS to GG ports are inferior due to the change is resolution (Sonic 2 especially is a good example of this). Some games like Sonic 1 are similar, but have differences that make both versions worth playing. There are even a couple games like G-Loc and GP Rider that are completely different between SMS and GG.

You're going to bet on KONAMI of all companies to revive a Hudson system? I wouldn't hold my breath on a company that can't even release one of their best games (Contra NES) on any retro service.

Heck, they didn't even put out any of their Genesis or N64 games on the Wii VC.

I don't expect anything from Konami. I'm not sure why anyone should.

If you compare the Arcade and all the versions (TG16/SNES/Megadrive). TG16 feels the closest. (The real version at least from youtube vid's looks even closer).

Geesh, two members of staff and an administrator are on this. Philip is right, this could become something big. If I read this correctly, I'm pretty sure that he's saying that Japan is releasing the Virtual Console games faster because they edit the ROM files while in the west we just do think from the beginning all the time. I knew that there was a reason other than Nintendo taking eight months just to translate a game that's ten to thirty years old.

Earthbound wasn't done from scratch its the exact same rom.

Who said he was talking about Earthbound presumptuous bone head.

I also wanted EarthBound on the VC, too, but Virtual Console fans, I can only send Reggie an letter, and not just an email. I am terribly sorry. But, if you have Reggie Fils-Aime's email, please reply this.
