Well, it definitely is a Game Gear Sonic game. Brings back memories. I like how you can change the resolution on the touchscreen rather than by holding start and select when the game boots up. Hopefully, Nintendo will update the Game Boy games to do that. I'd like to see Game Boy Pocket borders (esp. if they re-release Pokemon Yellow). Having the SGB borders would, again, be nice.

On "Dot By Dot" resolution, the game seems rather clunky, but looks fine. Default resolution is a bit blurry, but runs well enough. Full resolution is both blurry and distorted.

I enjoy the dot by dot resolution since it throws up the Game Gear overlay. It looks neat in 3D and brings new meaning to the term "Virtual Console!" I also am liking the menu options here mush more than with the GB/GBC menus. Hopefully Nintendo can roll out and update in the future... Overall pretty happy with it. I was afraid it might be too similar to the Master System Sonics (which suck IMO) but its actually a bit closer to Genesis Sonics. A bit steep at 5 bucks but I'm happy

If I'm remembering it right, the Chaos Emeralds in Triple Trouble work a bit differently. I think they're actually hidden within the levels, and look kind of like normal powerups.

Do you prefer playing in Blur mode on or off? I don't know which is better.

Just downloaded this and after 30 minutes or so of play, I'm pretty impressed. I've just reached the second boss, and so far it is pretty fun. It is very similar to the Genesis Sonic games in design.

I have to say though, what has really impressed me the most is the wealth of options for Game Gear games. You can change the display mode (Standard, Full Screen, and Dot by Dot which is like the native resolution mode for GameBoy games) at any time without having to reset the game. You can turn blurring on or off depending on your preference. You can even change the color of the console frame when you are using the Dot by Dot screen mode. You are also given the ability to remap the game's controls. Also worth noting is that the game saves your preferences; you don't have to redo them every time you launch the game. I'm a huge Nintendo fan, but in this one case I have to say Sega did what Nintendidn't. I hope that Nintendo adds these features to their own games, both currently available and forthcoming. If Pokemon Crystal ever makes it onto the VC, I would love to be able to play it with a virtual representation of my old teal GameBoy Color.

No, that's Chaos. In Triple Trouble, you get them in special stages.

Well played for a few hours last night and I am enjoying the game the only thing is has anyone been able to get past Robotniks WInterland (or whatever is called). I cant get past act one I get about halfway through the level than I get to part where I loop around right into a pit.

Would anyone recommended it to someone who's favorite Sonic game (and the only 1 he 100%) is Sonic Generations? It looked so slow in the eShop video.

This is a type of Sonic game that just moving forward isn't enough. pressing up and jump button while standing and then press forward to run in top speed and that's when Sonic is at his best.

Just reached the Tidal Plant zone, and I have to say I am really liking this game. I think I've actually played more of this so far than I have Super Mario Land 2!

Ok, I am now liking Dot By Dot. It looks a lot better than the other versions. I do like the burnout feature, and the fact that you actually have to go every-which-way in the levels instead of fast-forwarding through the stages.

Played it on the Gamecube on at least one of the collections...wouldn't mind actually taking the time out to play through it now on the 3DS though! Never actually got all the emeralds...not real sure if I ever took the time out to beat it at all. Is there only 5 emeralds in this game?? Anything special if you get them all?
The only thing stopping me from this is Kid Icarus is coming out this weekend and I would put too much focus into it, to play this old game for a while I'd think...
