I've been waiting for this game for weeks, since it was first announced for the Japanese eShop. I know North America got Metroid II months after the Japanese release, but I was hoping Wario Land would be out in time for Christmas. Perhaps it's a New Year's present?
A New Year's present? Erm, you do realize it's the 4th, non? Regardless, I'm sure it'll just be a matter of time. We know of several other Gameboy games slated to hit the VC, but with little idea as to when. I suppose we'll just have to appreciate that we know these ones are indeed coming to the eShop as opposed to all the titles that haven't even been announced or considered yet.
You are aware that several titles that are available in Japan, aren't available in the U.S. Wario Land might take sometime, since Japan always gets the games there first. But, it also appears that you've answered you're own question, by stating that Metriod II got announced months after its Japanese release, meaning, that Nintendo might do the same for this game.

This Thursday is the first Nintendo Download of 2012, so yes, it would be considered a New Year's present.

I never got the chance to play this game I did however play the Virtual Boy Warioland and that was easily the best game on the VB. I hope NA gets this one soon otherwise I just might have to track down a copy of this so I can play it on my GBA SP.

From what I hear, it was hard to find a good game on the VB, but I wouldn't put it past a Wario Land game. Really hoping for the GB game this week.

IMO the only good games the Virtual Boy had were Warioland, Mario Clash and Red Alarm. If Nintendo wasnt in such a rush to release the VB so that they could work on the N64 I think it could have been a good system.
