Actually I already made a the- na just messing with ya

I'm actually kinda annoyed this is N3ds exclusive, but I can get all of these on my WiiU so it's not all bad.

I wonder if the games are discounted for people who own them on Wii U?

Good for the 2m people who actually own the thing i guess. I wonder if it's safe to assume that the regular 3DS has the computing power of a potato.

Not mad about the exclusiveness. I'm just kind of bored by the idea that they're obviously going to just readd all the same SNES games from the Wii/WiiU we've already had for 10 years. Can we get something new already?
Even though I'm a touch meh about that, I'm gonna download Pilotwings for it eventually, I played it to death on my WiiU already but oh well.

It has to be a selling point by now. It can do GBA games, they just never added them to the store. Only "Ambassadors" got them. Plus it wouldn't make sense that it has the oomph to do 3D but not SNES?

Not a bad little feature to sell the N3ds. If they do some sort of discount for wiiu owners I'll pick up a few.

The only one I'd consider buying is Zelda... But I kind of already own it. Three times. Too bad there's no discount or cross buy option.

And the GBA version is just plain better than the SNES version.

I have a New 3DSXL so I am OK with this. Though this hopefully will go down as the last time (what with all the NX rumours and all) that Nintendo do something dumb where they remember that cross buy is a thing that would be nice. Oh well I'll get Super Mario World since I don't have it on Wii U yay I guess.

@Meowpheel: I hear ya. I already own most of these at least twice. I may triple dip on Super Metroid though.

I honestly wish Nintendo would have released SNES games for the regular 3DS too.

This is a big FU from Nintendo to owners of the older 3DS models. There is absolutely no reason that these games can't run on the normal 3DS. Nintendo is just being greedy because there is no real incentive for older 3DS owners to upgrade. It just make me laugh. Nintendo wants to block people from using flash carts and other methods of using roms on the 3DS but then they make the VC so restricted.

Now I am half tempted to sell of my 3DS and just go other routes to play older Nintendo games.

FU Nintendo just FU. You will not get any sympathy from me when people emulate your older games from me. It's time you pull your head out you rear.

Throwing this out there. The complaints about still not having cross-buy are fair. The complaints about this being a New 3DS exclusive are ill-informed.

The New 3DS isn't an upgrade at all in terms of the GPU but for emulated games that doesn't matter. The GPU isn't really used. What matters for emulated games is the CPU. The New 3DS is clocked at the same speed but it has twice the number of cores. So I think it's fair to say that the New 3DS would run these games quite a bit better. Likely maintaining the full 60fps where the original struggled. So I think it's pretty easy to understand why this is only on the New 3DS.

And the people saying that this is just a ploy to force people to upgrade? I think from the responses it's clear that that's not happening. I suspect they would have made quite a bit more money from VC sales if they had put this on both. I think people forget how underpowered the 3DS is.

Great as this news is, it'll still take more to get me to upgrade from a normal 3DS; I own a Wii U and already own many of the announced games.

Still, I suppose it isn't a bad option for handheld-only gamers.

This might finally push me over the edge to getting a N3DS (Especially if my brother moves out and takes his SNES with him!). Even though I have a Wii U, I'd rather have these games on my 3DS. These, as well as SmileBASIC's improved power on N3DS, the improved browser and 3D, are definitely starting to tempt me. Especially if my XL starts showing any signs of age. Really, the one big issue I have with the N3DSXL is the tiny stylus. As someone who uses the stylus a lot for SmileBASIC, having a good stylus that's easy to pull out and comfortable to hold is really important.

Bought F Zero when the games went up and... quite honestly, it works out really well. The game looks gorgeous on 3DS and seems to run without a hitch. I'd be tempted to repurchase some of the VC games I already have if they were cheaper. I wish NA had special pricing on this like Europe apparently does.

This doesn't bother me, but I find it strange because I hardly believe this is going to sell systems, so why wouldn't they make it available to the 50+ million 3DS users and sell a TON of games instead of just to a handful of N3DS users?

Read this and replace GBA with SNES: http://www.vooks.net/why-the-game-boy-advance-isnt-on-the-3ds...

As you said, they would be able to sell to a lot more users if it was on both. I'm sure that if they could get it working to a reasonable enough quality they would. I mean why not? But they haven't. And the only reason they'd do that is because the 3DS isn't as capable as the New 3DS. I'd expect their next portable system to do both SNES and GBA and probably also N64 VC.

Of course, my N3DS just happened to get water damage the other day and I just sent it out for repairs today. Sigh...I've been waiting to play SNES games on the go for years. I hope my N3DS is repaired soon...

If you add me, I need to at least know you or I won't add you back.
