One thing that has really bothered me is how slowly Nintendo is releasing their 3DS VC titles. Honestly, it took Nintendo over 11 months to put Lost Levelson the 3DS after putting SMB1 on the 3DS, it took them almost two years after putting Legend of Zelda Link's Awakening DX to put the Oracle games on the 3DS, and it took them over 1 1/2 years to put all the NES Ambassador titles on 3DS but priced. Really Nintendo? And better yet, they still haven't put the GBA Ambassador titles on 3DS with a price. Yet they're putting GBA games on Wii U eShop. I want to play handheld games on a handheld device Nintendo! Give me GBA titles for 3DS and GameCube titles for Wii U!
I am still waiting for Super Mario Bros. 2 and 3 (especially SMB3) to be released on 3DS eShop, as well as Kirby's Dream Land 2, Pokemon Red and Blue, Gold and Silver, Yellow, Wario Land 3, Super Mario Bros. Deluxe (don't care if the NES original is available on 3DS eShop), and other 3DS VC titles that should be out by now. Also, Nintendo, PLEASE put SNES, GBA, and DS titles on the eShop as downloadable titles. People are missing out on a whole generation of re-experiencing classic games. Sega is releasing their Game Gear titles on 3DS faster than Nintendo is releasing VC games on the 3DS, and the 3DS isn't even Sega's system! Nintendo, as a strong and loyal fan, I ask you to pick up the pace with releasing VC titles on 3DS, including GB, GBC, GBA, NES, SNES, and DS titles on 3DS eShop. Does anyone agree with me?

DS games you can already play because it is backwards compatible one generation. But I definitely agree with you about getting SNES and GBA games in the VC. Someday soon I hope...

some of those ds games you can't find anymore so it would be cool if you could download ds games on the 3ds
I think Nintendo doesn't want any of their titles being forgotten because too many were released at once. Normally I'd agree but when they do this during slow release weeks, it comes off as a stupid idea.
@supered91: With the internet you can always find a certain game.
@ClassicSonicFan: So if they went and burned through their entire catalog of VC game in six months then you wouldn't rant on how long its taking them to release games?
Probably not than you would rant on how nothing comes out anymore.

I don't like the idea of mixing handheld and console titles. NES/SNES/N64 games should stay on Wii U VC, and GB/GBC/GBA games should stay on 3DS VC. Mixing NES and soon GBA games between the two systems just makes it more convoluted and delays games that actually belong on the respective VC from coming out. As you said, the 3DS VC is lacking in content and opening the door to all the NES/SNES games would be crazy, especially as the Wii U is currently going the cycle of re-releasing every NES and SNES game available on the Wii (which is a rant I'll save for an another occasion.) I don't want a situation where the Wii U is rehashing every Wii VC game without anything new popping up, and the 3DS then rehashes everything the Wii U releases, also expecting you to buy it again. But hey, that's just how I see it, many people seem to want the double dipping to occur.

Seeing as how some people look at any non-Nintendo games on the VC, that's probably pretty apt.
"Ewww, what's Rocket Knight Adventures? I've never played it which makes it garbage. When is Nintendo going to stop releasing garbage nobody cares about? Where's Yoshi Story? That's the real classic everyone wants!"
There is no real way to win here.

There were hundreds of GB, GBC, and GBA games. There are a dozen, half a dozen, and zero on the eshop. They could absolutely be releasing them faster. As they shift resources, however, I'm not expecting the VC on 3DS to pick up. It's been a couple of years now. I guess I prefer VC games on a home console anyways...

Part of the reason why it is so slow is the licences for many of those games. One of my favorite GBC games will never release on VC due to the fact that it is a Dragon Ball Z licensed game made by Atari (Infogrames, Inc. at the time), who doesn't have the DBZ license anymore. (Dragon Ball Z Legendary Super Warriors)
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

A lot of the old Game Boy games are licensed games and from companies that aren't around any more. That probably hurts a lot.
Not to mention companies like Konami which are horrible when it comes to VC support and you have a lot of missing gems that should be there.

Super Mario Bros. 2 was added to the 3DS eShop on Thursday. Hopefully this paves the way for Super Mario Bros. 3 on 3DS eShop...

What I find most odd is that the virtual console (Wii, 3DS & WiiU) is so under supported by third parties. I mean its not like it would cost EA much but put up say Road Rash 1,2 & 3 or any of the strike games. All they would have to do is dump the ROMs onto the virtual console (I think its that easy anyway) I’m not just having a go at EA it way just the first company that I could think of.
Some of the main problems with the virtual console are:
Lack of awareness – way not put a leaflet in the Mario 3DLand box that says download the first Mario land on Virtual Console. Or when RE:Revelations came out on 3DS why not put up RE:Gaiden
The cost- when people can download games on iphone for 69p that’s in colour (which may be perceived as better) it’s a hard sell, selling a 20+ year old, black and white game for £3.60
Cross buy – I find it incredible that SONY allow you to buy a PS1 game for as little as £1.99, that you can play on PS3, PSP & Vita. Where as Nintendo charge people for downloading the same games on Wii, 3DS & WiiU, I know that you can play Wii VC games on WiiU.
NES on 3DS – I find it a lazy way of having a handheld VC, sure its good having them on the go, but I want real handheld games & not games that I’ve already experienced on the Wii VC.
Lack of handheld consoles- sure theres GB, GBC, GG and GBA for ambassadors, what about the TurboExpress, Neo Geo Pocket color maybe even the N-Gage? And why not open up the GBA games for everyone now
When the 3DS VC was first announced I was looking forward to playing all the GB games I missed as a kid, I've been disappointed so far.
