@DarthNocturnal Yeah, the Pokemon menu. The little orange sprites. It was weird, I had never seen it before. Horsea and Seadra were little fish, then it turned into a biped Charizard looking sprite...
I get that they're both dragons, but those icons usually resemble the body shape of a Pokemon, and Kingdra looks nothing like Charizard
@Octane How was I supposed to know an existing discussion thread for a Virtual Console game was not made on the Virtual Console board? I checked the Virtual Console board for threads on the Virtual Console game but saw none so made the thread.
Isn't the whole point of having a Virtual Console board so that people can find threads discussing Virtual Console games on it?
Hey guys, the release next month will be the first time for me to play those two games. I watched the anime but never played any Pokémon game after Red an Blue.
Would be nice to know if there is anything I should do from the start on to not miss anything or locking me out?
@zyn Not really. It's pretty straight forward, especially if you still remember Red and Blue. There are a few new additions, like two new types, Dark and Steel, new Pokemon, new moves, etc. Some minor things like breeding Pokemon, but most of that gets explained as you play, or isn't important for beating the game.
@Don We would need to see GBA games happen first (Like how SNES games revived the 3DS VC for awhile), which could happen since the RBY downloads made tons of sales and you'd have Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, Fire Red, Leaf Green, Pinball RS and Mystery Dungeon Red to makes tons off of, but I guess it depends on how much longer Nintendo want the 3DS brand to go on for
I don't suppose there's any word about the Mystery Gift/My Room feature being emulated in these rereleases is there? It was an omission from HGSS that let me down as I remember using the feature till I got every decoration for the bedroom and enjoyed using it. My one concern is it needed the infer red on GBC to use (Which 3DS has, but I dunno if Nintendo ever used it for anything.) so I am curious if they went out their way to implement it or not...
@Meowpheel As far as I recall, the mother's selection of decorations were pretty limited, and not every single one. The large Snorlax doll being one of them.
I mean if they do it via local Wi-Fi between 2 3DS's, I suppose it would not be too hard to send a signal to generate a random item selection for each game. They did go out their way to ensure the Pikachu Surfing minigame could be played on Yellow so who knows, maybe they will put it in. Sure would confuse younger gamers with a game option that doesnt work at all.....
Very excited especially with the Celebi announcement now if i could just get a Mew this time around i think the last one i missed by 6 months sold my 3DS system and games for the 2nd time lol and that will be the last time because this 3DS is staying until it stops working.
wonder what time these games go live. i have silver preinstalled, it'll be nice to play thru this in its original form. i stopped playing after first gen then jumped back in starting with heart gold
I never saw anything announced about it, but apparently you also get a free theme for purchasing Gold or Silver on VC. I purchased silver and this is the theme I received.
It's funny how these games are such a good value compared to RBY in my country. Haha. I don't know when, but at some point Nintendo decided to double the price of the first generation games. GS are a little cheaper, better, and come with a theme and a mythical Pokemon.
The two themes you get from buying the games play the GS title screen theme.
I like how Lugia has the Rainbow "Wing" in the background while Ho-Oh has the Silver "Wing". Though It may get confusing if you'd spect Lugia to have golden swirl to go with Ho-oh's silver swirl.
