Downloaded this today on the e-shop in the U.S. and am liking it, just wish obviously it was in color and that the screen playing area was larger. They have a small part of the screen on the right dedicated to a score and bonus item listing and it's really cumbersome. I will always love Pac-Man though, and this version isn't bad, it's just... why not have a color version (perhaps from the NES console not the GameBoy console) featured instead? I do love the retro feel of it, though, so I don't mind playing the grayscale version. Any other Pac-Man fans out there download this too?

btw You can tap the D pad right or left on the title screen to make the whole map appear. That way part of the screen won't be cut off by the score and stuff. Nintendolifes review failed to mention this.

@ grumblegrumble I downloaded it just because I didn't have a portable pac-man to play. It's nothing spectacular but hey it's Pac-man. You kinda know what you're getting. The restore points helps too since you can save before each map. If you mess up just re load your save and try again.

I'm a Pac Man fan, but I was offended that Namco felt they could release this and then charge $6 (Australian) for it.
Wow! That's crazy. I have to admit I do love the greyscale retro feel of it now, I guess I do have this game in like 10 other versions all in color, why not another different (vintage) version? lol

Dude! I waited in line for 3 hours to buy this with my parents when I was a little kid... it was $30-40 at the time if I recall. Early to mid 80's. It was state of the art back then!

@Link79: Yep, that's the Atari version and it was really rushed, they never actually finished the game.
The Atari version of Ms. PacMan more than made up for that disaster of a game though.
They had a version for the 7800, too. I think I have it

Agreed! I actually like the zoomed in version now I've played both on this release, but I do love Pac Man any way I can get it So I'm glad I got this.

There's a "safe zone" right above the Ghost Box to the left. After reading the manual. I had no clue! LOL. Got to level 7 like always and died, seems that I can only get that far

Different mazes (ad Ms. Pac-Man has 4 different mazes, while Pac-Man only has one), the ghosts have different movement patterns (that now involve more randomness), and the fruit travels around the maze instead of sitting still.
