Topic: Oracle of Ages or Oracle of Seasons ?

I was really happy to grab these today on the VC. I remember how much I enjoyed OoS when I was a kid. Along with Link's Awakening, these are definitely my favourite Zelda games.

Started with Seasons, for no reason. Missed these the first time around and very much looking forward to digging in.

FINALLY I can replay these games! I have both carts, and have wanted to replay them for a while now, but knew they'd get a VC release eventually.

And eventually is now!

Going to start with Ages, just because the last time I played them I started with Seasons. Though it has been long enough since I've played them — and I've only played through them once, via Gameboy Player with the excellent Hori controller — that i'm sure I won't remember anything.

After running back and forth for quite a while I collected all my items and headed into 3rd dungeon in Ages. I start to realize what everyone means by saying Ages is puzzle based.

Hey I have a question....
I have Oracle of Seasons on gameboy colour including a completed save state, to get the bonus stuff do I have to purchase the eshop version of Seasons or can I swap codes between the gameboy and eshop version of Ages?

It still uses the original password system to link the games, so you'd be fine just buying Ages.

You know, I noticed people keep talking about which game they plan to play first, or like in this thread, deciding which game they plan to own.

Am I the only one who plans to play through both simultaneously, then Link new files so that I will be doing the "second Linked part" of both games? I don't want to miss anything! lol

Is the "real/special" ending in both versions or just in ages?
I got both at the same time but I plan to beat seasons first, then ages and the special ending in both if I can.

Unsurprisingly, the Advance Shop is closed, but somebody posted a work-around to get the two GBA-exclusive rings in the Seasons review:

As far as I know, the extra final battle and special ending are the same in both games.

Here's a nice little detail for the newcomers...

There's an area in each game that changes depending on the animal you befriend, that means you have to play each game three times to see all the variations.

Ok, so I need help in Ages.
You know that place with the, what were they?...Tokays? The obnoxious green dudes that steal your stuff. Anyways I'm past most of it, but need to deal with the 10 Scent Seeds trade thing. I've found the Sapling, but dunno where to plant it...and here's the other problem that I think is why....I've found one plant-able spot and used it for some random Gasha seed. Except the tree didn't give me anything...so I have this tree just sitting here. Tried burning it, cutting it with my wooden sword (lol), shoveling it and harping it to death...nothing. Halp?

A tokay will help you taking care of the tree if you give the sapling to him in the past.

The sapling you mean? You don't plant it yourself do you?
