Topic: Now that NES seems to be a part of 3DS VC, which games do we want/predict

Pretty much as the title suggests. I'm guessing now that 3DS is going beyond the ten ambassador games, to a certain extent, NES will be a supported system for VC. But, to an extent.

Prediction:

  • I doubt the NES range will be as big as the Wii VC since there are other systems yet to be introduced
  • Obviously, all 10 Ambassador games will be available at some point, definitely before 2013
  • All 3 Mario games will most likely be available within the next 18 months

What I want from NES:

  • Star Wars: i never got to finish this as a kid. With save states, i'm pretty sure I can close this long overdue chapter in my life.
  • Double Dragon 2
  • Contra
  • Castlevania
  • Mario 1/2/3
  • Ninja Gaiden
  • Mega Man 2
  • Robocop 2
  • Batman

Allowing you to redownload what you already bought on wii VC would be nice through your club nintendo account, but wont be purchasing stuff I already own on wii VC again and since I own most of the NES VC titles I wanted doesn't really leave anything else I'd want to be released for 3DS VC I don't think.

When I read this I actually do understand why some Wii Gamers aren't too enthusiastic about home consoles on 3DSVC. Personally, i'm all for NES and SNES appearing on 3DS but that's because I don't have a Wii. This is where Nintendo drop the ball because even Apple allow you to download to multiple devices via iTunes. Steam even allow you to down load not only to multiple devices but both PC & Mac. I imagine it's the same with Sony PS3 & Vita too.

I'm gonna be pissed if the first 4 Dragon Quests games come out on 3Ds VC and not on Wii.

I'd love to play the Dragon Quest games - but I'd much rather get the GBC versions - DQ1+2 and DQ3. DQ4 already has a DS remake, so that I dont really want either.

Apart from those my top NES games I want are...
1) Mega Man Games
2) Gargoyles Quest 2
3) Ghosts N Goblins
4) Super Mario Bros 2+3
5) Duck Tales
6) Adventure Island Games

If Nintendo could find a way to transfer my Wii VC games to my 3DS, I will be happy. But if not, I see no point in re-buying the same NES games I currently have on my Wii. Besides, why do we have NES games on the 3DS? Surely, Gamegear or something would be a better fit than games from a home console?

Then don't. Continue to play with your Wii if that what works for you.

Because NES games are more popular and the eShop is being more used then the Wii Shop I should imagine. Nintendo wanted NES games on the 3DS and so NES games appeared. They were part of the Ambassador games anyway. Game Gear games aren't that well known now or that desirable. Its up to Sega when they get released. Nintendo can't put them on the service until Sega gives the okay.

Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.

I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!

The one's that have aged well, so Mario 3, Contra, the Mega Man games and... I guess that's it when it comes to stuff we haven't gotten yet or will get.

I understand that and it allows people who never bought a Wii to experience NES games, but I don't see the logic in releasing games from a home console to a portable console, in my mind it would make more sense to release games from another portable (Atari Lynx or Game Gear etc.) to the 3DS eShop and keep the games from the NES on the Wii/Wii U.

However it is a good way of getting the NES games out to a wider audience I suppose, but at the same time I feel a little bit done over. I could play my favourite NES games wherever I want but I'd have to buy them again... hopefully at some point Nintendo will allow us to transfer our Wii VC library over to the 3DS, but that sounds like a long shot.

I bet NES games will only be first party for a while since the 3rd party focus is on the Game Boy (so it would probably be a REALLY long time before we see Genesis/MD, Neo Geo, and Arcade games if those even happen in the 3DS's lifetime, along with GBA games). I'm guessing we'll get the Japanese SMB2 as the eShop's first "Import title" (us Americans would probably get it on the same week as "Trip World" for Game Boy).

I'd love to have portable versions of SMB2 and SMB3 — with restore points, of course. xD

Contra would also be a good one.
