I kinda like DK Jr. It's really short though. I must have beat this back when I was a kid cause I beat it in like 10 minutes.
As soon as I started playing I suddenly had flashbacks and knew exactly what to do.
Weird huh? Anyway the top three games are obviously Mario, Zelda 1 and Metroid.
Zelda 2 has always been a favorite of mine despite the unfair hate it gets.
The rest of the games are meh.

DK Jr. is a wuss. He falls two feet from a vine, he busts his balls and dies...
@Link79
When you go through the 4 levels, you start again but it progressively gets harder and harder.
Oh, and thanks for sharing that- about the red doors in Metroid. Now I can get back into playing and hopefully beat it. On SMB, i made it to 7-1 with 5 lives... and I barely even ran with holding the b-button. It actually feels kinda easy that way... I have the game suspended lol

I got to 8-2 using warp zones... One at 1-2 and one vine on 4-2. Do you use warp zones or beat it all the way through?

I've given all the games a try, ended up deleting most of them (kept the usual, mario, zelda, metroid though Zelda has aged badly imo).

I don't know tbh, I'm usually one to enjoy NES games, but these titles have been underwhelming for me. I hate the jump mechanics in Ice Climbers, Donkey Kong Jr wasn't that much enjoyable either. Wrecking Crew and Yoshi were fun for a while, but I'm just not that interested in them anymore but they were free, so I can't complain that much, I'll just stick to what I like and call it a day while waiting for the GBA stuff. :3

its weird I hate Yoshi on my Wii's VC (so much I want a refund) but the 3DS Version is so fun

can somebody tell me how to play nes open golf. I always press a when the line is over the white marker but the ball usually only goes a centimmetre.

Mario has the same problem in the original DK. You barely fall two feet and you're dead. Everybody seems to love that game though. At least the Nes version of DK Jr isn't missing a stage like the Nes DK original.

Exactly! I have that exact same problem! I can't figure this damn game out...

I use warp zones yeah lol I just want to breeze through and beat it.

Back to Donkey Kong:

Do they have Donkey Kong 2 on VC by any chance? Or DK3- whatever it's called. I know the main character is named Stan with a bug spray thing...

@ Komicturtle92
Dk Jr pretty much is DK 2. It's the sequel to the original.
All three DK Nes games are on Wii's VC.

At least Mario (or Jumpman)doesn't move like a sloth and knows how to jump decently.

@90 and 92
See my link in Post #84. Specifically, you have to press "A" three times, not just twice. Once to start, once to set the power, and once to set the accuracy.

Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.
...
Prof. Oak: It's only Chansey if Krabby won't let go. Bye, now.
Ash: I don't think I'm going to call him anymore.

I guess I've just had more practice with DK Jr. I beat that game several times as a kid.
It just takes some getting used to. Strangely enough I wasn't able to finish the original DK until many years later.
It's alot harder for me.

Wrecking Crew is a lot more fun than I expected it to be and I think I'm going to have to "cheat" and get a Map for Zelda! I'm also loving the love that Yoshi is getting. Nintendo Life should revisit their review and give it something other than a four

On your first shot, press the button when the arrow is as far as it can get, then press the button again when the second arrow is on or very close to the white line. Don't worry if you make crappy shots at first. This is a pretty hard golf game.

Hit A before the marker bounces back to that line. THEN hit it a SECOND time when the split marker goes to that line. The first one is the measure of your backswing for power... then the second press is your accuracy. That's what you use the line to measure for. Took me a while to figure out, too.

Is their some way to make it full screen

. Heads up my name online on the 3DS and Xbox Live is Bubbab5 to let you guys know. My 3DS FC 5412 9927 8618

The 3DS is widescreen. Widescreen Nes games do not exist so no you can't make the games fill the screen.

Why would you want it full screen? Your game is gonna be so strached out and blurry that you can't even see what you're playing!

I actually do like DK Jr a bit, bit still: It's really, really slow. I found out how to play Golf, so I'll give it a try.
