Super Mario Bros. - promotes drug use
The Legend of Zelda - promotes crossdressing

Ice Climbers - promotes racial stereotyping
NES Open Tournament Golf - promotes wasteful terraforming and ecosystem upheaval for humanity's own pleasure
Yoshi - Haven't played it yet
Donkey Kong Jr. - promotes animal cruelty
Balloon Fight - promotes aerial terrorism and disregard of natural physics
Wrecking Crew - promotes destruction and anti-societal tendencies

There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.

So far from what I've played...

Super Mario Bros. - Dang, after playing New Super Mario Bros, I forgot how slippery the physics are. Good game though.

Zelda - Fun game, but probably the hardest Zelda I've ever played besides OOT Master Quest.

Metroid - Love the exploration element. Awesome game as well.

Go Leafs Go!

So I'm not the only one who thinks this! Still love the game though.

This hate for Yoshi is baffling. Different strokes for different folks, I guess, but this is far from a bad game. I feel like if it came out today and it was called "ArtStyle: PiKkrBiKKRsHmiKKrTon" people would be calling it the best thing since Art Style: PiCTOBITS and/or sliced bread.

@abgar
I always get 3 heart pieces, the blue candle, the white sword and the blue ring before I go to the first dungeon. This game is way too hard for me to just jump into it like that

haha! totally agree with you. it boggles my mind how many people are complaining about these awesome games, games that i grew up with that shaped my love for video games oh, i am loving all the games, btw, the only thing that bothers me is that the Virtual Console screen does not show a "restore point" anymore, just "reset" and "resume game" ;< otherwise, i am so dang happy! been playing Zelda, Zelda 2 and Metroid quite a bit today, some of my faves! Oh, and Ice Climber, of course Always love that one

Don't worry, we'll be getting an update soon that allows us to create restore points. These were "priority delivered" to us Ambassadors so they hadn't finished putting the final touches in, but once theyse games hit the e-Shop officially we'll be able to update at no charge.

Oh! I just realized!! If you simply click the HOME button while playing one of the new NES VC games, and click "quit" it will save your in-game progress and if you click back on it later (even after turning system off) it will resume where u left off! Not bad!

Try to capture as many enemies as you can inside two egg shells to score lots of points.
Mode A is simple, almost relaxing if you're just starting a game, just make as many points as you can while the speed increases slowly, The game also records how many yoshies you have hatched (try to beat my record of 56). This mode plays with speeds on higher levels.
Mode B is also very fun, you need to clear the screen off enemies to advance to the next level (i have reached lvl 13, it's crazy).

Many, many times this.

I really don't understand why people don't like this game........

Is it just me or are the NES games a little hard on the eyes? It's evident that these games were designed for a larger screen, and the smaller sprites (particularly that of Link in Zelda II) are quite painful to look at. Nevertheless, I'm glad to have these. I doubt I'd finish any of them until the paid versions are released though (with restore points and simultaneous multiplayer).

I finally figured out what's going on with the display resolution. It turns out that the game screen is stretched horizontally by some 20-ish pixels, and that's what creates the (barely-noticeable-but-still-there) anti-aliasing artifacts. The vertical resolution is fine (240 pixels). My guess is that they did this slight horizontal stretching to maintain the same aspect ratio seen on a regular TV screen.

It's normal that if I try 2 players mode in super mario bros, during Luigi's turn, luigi doesn't move with any button?
EDIT: with exception of START, that put the game un pause.

It's hillarious hearing about all the kiddies struggling with these 20+ year old games.
You show these to some teenager and they think... What is this dinosaur game you're playing?
The graphics suck and it's too hard for me Whaaaa.
Why back in my day we didn't have all this new fangled High def gaming with CGI cutscenes and High res graphics.
Our games were simple and hard as nails and we liked it that way.
Now where's my walking stick?

I've played 9/10 of the games now, still Yoshi to test out on 3DS (have played this once before). So far so good, all of the games seem to be good enough for me

PS. Write ENGAGE RIDLEY MOTHER F***** in the password section in Metroid and enjoy when your 3DS crashes xD

Super Mario Bros. - Love it.
The Legend of Zelda - Love it.
Zelda II: The Adventure of Link - I'm not feeling it yet. It's kind of weird and interesting. But I'm not to keen on it thus far.
Metroid - Love it.
Ice Climbers - It's OK.
NES Open Tournament Golf - A little 'meh'.
Yoshi - A nice puzzle game. A good way to pass time.
Donkey Kong Jr. - Pretty good.
Balloon Fight - Quite fun. But only for a short period of time.
Wrecking Crew - Haven't played yet.

Looking forward to: No More Heroes: Travis Strikes Again

I'll agree with what people have said about Ice Climbers, the jumping is going to give me nightmares. It's still a fun game though.

Personally my least favourites are Yoshi & Donkey Kong Jr. Like Ice Climbers, DK jr also feels pretty clunky.....but unlike Ice Climbers I don't really find it entertaining so I can look past it like I do with Ice Climbers

Yoshi > Zelda

That is all :3

Oh.. And Balloon Fighter would have been perfect as a 3D Classic. With an online mode. Nintendo needs to have a remake of Balloon Fighter. Fun party game and co op D:
