Will N64 games make an appearance on the eShop? Your ideas and prices, please. (Hey, look, I finally put in under the right topic! That gives no excuses to she-who-must-not-be-named that is listed in my bio!)

I doubt they could be emulated. Traditionally, platforms must be roughly seven times more powerful than the system they are trying to emulate. Nintendo might find a way to pull it off though, I don't know! Also, it's a bit pre-emptive to start thinking about N64 games seeing a release as I don't think even SNES games have been formally announced.

Although, if this ever was to happen, I'd love to see Banjo-Kazooie and Paper Mario.

Since when did Nintendo say that only portable games could be on the eShop? The 3DS is capable of it, if I'm not mistaken.
EDIT: @2 7 times? Where did you see that? Link, please! (Even if that's true, Nintendo could find a way to pull it off! They could polish it a little, maybe taking off irrelevant parts of the game without getting an uproar from customers about a hollow experience.

The 3DS is not capable of an N64 controller.

Besides, this is Nintendo we're talking about.

Eh? I'm pretty sure that's the rule, right?

According to Wikipedia, the biggest cartridge size that the N64 had was 64 MBs, so the idea is not impossible. However, Nintendo has only called the eShop's virtual console service the "Virtual Console Handheld" or whatever, so I'm not expecting it. I also have a suspicion that Nintendo wants to set up some real, account-based system so that people don't get angry over buying two versions of the same game for different platforms.

What're you talking about? The 3DS is the PERFECT platform for N64 games! Think about it, there have been TWO N64 remakes so far, both of which had great quality! Think about it, 3DS has all of the buttons of the N64 controller, excluding maybe the Z button (which could be easily solved with the option of the "Slider Pad Pro"). It's perfecly capable of the N64 controller. You may be right about the secoond part, though!

And the C buttons?

Putting N64 games in the 3DS eShop would take away from the opportunity to remake them of course.

If you add me, I need to at least know you or I won't add you back.

Nintendo SHOULD put N64 games on the eShop, as well as everything that Nintendo has for Wii's virtual console, in all honesty. They should do what Sony does for PS1 classics.
But this is Nintendo we're talking about. They won't do something if it makes sense.

When was the last time you actually looked at an N64 controller?

And the fact that they found suitable control setups for two enhanced ports doesn't make 3DS "perfect" for N64 games. Honestly, it's not gonna happen.

D-pad, bro
@TeeJay What's wrong with remaking a game that's already on VC? It hasn't stopped Nintendo so far.
@moomoo I totally agree with everything you just said.

The D-pad would already be occupying the D-pad.

SuperToad

D-pad in OoT is used to toggle the mini-map on/off.

Alright. I accept defeat on the C-buttons front. But the big N would find a way, just like they did in OoT 3D, which had excellent controls.
