@Waveboy Pretty much what the other users said regarding MMII being the weakest in the series. But what I want to add is personal. I really disliked how they handled the Megaman killer Quint. He was the easiest boss in the game and really, can you accept that the future Megaman will return evil and fight the present hero with a Pogostick? I think I know now why he was omitted from the MM10 dlc. But other than that, it is still a pretty decent game, I just found myself playing the 1st and 3rd game more. I still rate it higher than the MM7 (and to a lesser extent, the PC and wonderswan games).

Quint isn't a Mega Man Killer, which is also why he's absent from MM10.

Enker is kicking my to no end. As if some of those MM2 Robot Masters in Wily's Stage 1 were hard enough...I mean the battle against Flash Man almost feels like a 'I hit you, you hit me back' scenario....Same deal with Quick man, to the point where you're going to lose no matter what unless you have that special weapon that they're weak against. Because their patterns are so random, and mega man 's controls aren't quite as response and zippity as they are in MM3-MM6, including 9 and 10 for the Nes.
That's probably my biggest gripe with this game, and that's most of the sloppy boss battles. They're not exactly as refined as their NES counterparts that's for sure!

Enker is all about keeping distance and reacting to his actions quickly. Jump if he runs, run if he jumps. There's no trick, it's just a reaction endurance test.
The MM2 robot masters all have slight weaknesses to MM1 master weapons that can win you a shootout if you're good at avoiding their attacks to a fair degree. Quick Man is also toned down a lot, and has that "get stuck in a corner" move - avoiding his boomerangs is near-impossible, but as long as you can dodge his other attacks, he's beatable without halving his life meter with Time Stopper. Flash Man dies very easily to Fire Storm, which you DO have when you get to him, so he's no problem.

You're definitly right on that, it's next to impossible to avoid Quick man's boomerangs, but i got the hang of dodging his jumping and hopping over him. As for Flash man, seems like he's the weakest against Ice Man's weapon. And what was Bubble man's weakness anyways? I'm guessing it was Quick man's boomerang.
And I actually made a mistake in the beginning when going up against Enker. I actually when i was shooting his sword that he was gaining more life, when really he just loses some... while 'instead' his sword is getting fed so he can unleash a larger energy attack. Anyways, he was a piece of cake once I realised this no brainer.
That aside, Wily's stage was quite torturous! It took me quite a while to get through it....And that final fight against Wily? Hands down one of the best battles in the franchise. I loved how you had to hop just perfectly over the incoming saw blades, and how you had to deflect those lasers with Enker's Weapon on Wily's 2nd form.
Anyways, Wily's Revenge was much better and more original than i thought it was going to be that's for sure.

Dunno. He's weak enough against Rolling Cutter that I can take him out easily without trying MM2 master weapons

This! At least until I get to the boss refights in the console games. I already proved I can beat them buster only. I'm using their weaknesses!! lolYou are a true man, CB!

This is what I always do. Buster only! 'Then' Robot master weapons during Dr.Wily's Robot Master Chamber Room.Plus i hate the people that go to the Shop and stock up on E-Tanks....The shop is for panzies! Even though the shop isn't available in Dr.Wily's Revenge, just sayin'.
The only RM of the main 4 that gave me trouble was Cut man. Trying to jump over him resulted in a mega hit everytime. Flash & Quick were the other 2 toughies trying to take down with a buster. I managed to with Quick man, but like Cut man, jumping over Flash man without taking a hit seemed pretty wonky....I can beat them all with the buster except Flash man when all said and done.

Megaman Fans act a like I suppose. I agree on stocking up on E-tanks for the boss fights. Yeah you got to fight the bosses again, but don't waste your E-tanks of the refights if you're going to use them! If you must, save them for the final boss. I haven't played this game in a while. I've been busy with other games. I've only beaten 2 bosses so far. Really good, imo. I like the level designs. They're original and challenging. The only disappointing parts are the boss fights. They're just way too cramped. I actually think they're easier, because of the little space. But like I said, haven't made it to where you are yet.

I might be in the minority here but I have tried to like this game, I have tried to get into it, I just don't get it. It doesn't have that 'oomph' that the other VC titles have had. The characters seem flat and boring, and the game seems cheaply made. Just not into it. I have given it a fair shot, though, it's just not interesting to me.

I see this game as a straight up 7.5 it does a few things worse & better than the NES Original.Like all GB games, having no Color instantly sucks....The Boss battles like Retro_on_thego mentioned do feel cramped for the most part, mega man's pea shooter bullets are slower plus they sound weird, the music while solid doesn't quite match the oomph and greatness of the Nes MM games sound quality wise, plus a couple of the Robot Masters seem a bit sloppy and unfair in design....Flash and Cut take the nod.
But those little mega peeves aside...I thought the level design was pretty killer in spots, the GB Chip tunes were pretty sweet, the awesomeness(yet easyness, depending) that is Enker, 4 of the MM2 Robot Masters make a return, and the radshmastic little final battle against Wily make Wily's: Revenge stand out in my opinion.
I enjoyed it more than MM4 & 8.....And dare I say it, 10? I think I despise 10 because of it's darker, less colorful and serious look and tone....It's got some brilliant level design and RM battles, but the weak sound track, plus the darker tone ruined it for me....Oh well, I still love you Pump and Sheep man.

While I disagree personally, I definitely see where you're coming from, and I'd be lying if I said any of those criticisms weren't valid. That said, I would recommend trying MM3 for the GB, which should address all of those issues and more, and definitely MM5 GB, which is one of the best Mega Man games period. It's a truly forgotten masterpiece.
