I don't know about anyone else, but I want my 3DS XL to be greeted with Majora's Mask as well as Ocarina of Time. Anyone agree, and have you guys got any confirmation?

There was some sort of Zelda event, IDK much about it, but the top award was a Majora's Mask soundtrack. Well, Nintendo hasn't gone back to Majora's Mask activity for a long time, ever since they released it for the N64. Why would they give off a soundtrack from an old game that they haven't done anything with in a while? They have to be remaking the game for Virtual Console.

So? This year's US Club Nintendo reward is the Majora's Mask soundtrack, but has the game been confirmed? No. And it will never be remade for Virtual Console, it'll be retail just like Ocarina was.

Okay, for one thing, my response to that is:
"Hmm. Ocarina was retail." and also Nintendo hasn't done ANYTHING that had to do with Majora's Mask in possibly years. Why would they give the sound track if it's for a real old game? Maybe they just copied the sound track to a remake of it and needed a good reward for Club Nintendo so they copied the sound track. Ocarina of Time was also BEFORE Majora's Mask so it would make PERFECT sense if they remade both Nintendo 64 games. The 3DS would be quite boring with Ocarina of Time and ONLY Ocarina of Time, and wouldn't Nintendo not like it if people that would boycott Ocarina of Time and play Majora's Mask alone stop playing their 3DS and not purchase ANYTHING for that console? Nintendo is better than that, they would definitely remake most Zelda fans' classic.
@slayer: I dont think Nintendo has to fear a boycott. Also I think it might be the fact that Ocarina of Times is a bit more popular with Zelda fans then Majora's Mask. For one thing Majora's Mask has alot of split reviews also MM sold only a little more than 3 million copies worldwide where as Ocarina sold close to 8.
Besides right now people dont want remakes they want something new, and thats what Nintendo is doing with A Link Between Worlds.
Nintendo has acknowledged that fans would like a MM remake but every time they are asked about it they responded with "it might be something we see in the future." Even Miyamoto said that fans supporting a MM remake "is still in his memory"

Just hoping. But I notice that new Zelda games have been leaked, but not MUCH. And that means Majora's Mask 3D might be currently developing. They just released A Link Between Worlds, the Link to the Past 3D remake, that might mean they're thinking back to the older Zelda games, and Majora's Mask might be next.
@slayer yes, I hope so! I just think they will give some time before it. many VC releases are good because they LOOK effortless so no one would complain even if they flood the Eshop because to a normal person's eyes "they only did some copy paste" but too many consecutive remakes make fans think "stop wasting your time with old stuff and make me a new game!!" so it's safe to assume that before 2015 it has a high chance of not happening. it may sound crazy but if you look into it you'll see that's exactly what happens, what's kind of sad...

They have had at least 2 re-releases since the N64 days (Collector's Edition and VC). They never remake games on Virtual Console.

As much as I absolutely adore Majora's Mask as it is my favourite game of all time, I expect that if a remake does happen for it it would be late in the 3DS's lifespan, and it wouldn't be announced any time soon. We have already had two Zelda games remade in a relatively short amount of time, and Nintendo wants and needs to focus on new Zelda games instead of remaking old ones.
If Majora's Mask 3D was announced tomorrow, I would be extremely excited and happy, but I don't mind waiting a few years filled with brand new Zelda games.
Chances are sometime next year I'm guessing, they already said a remake is happening...but not until a new Zelda game is released on the system....AKA, A Link Between Worlds..

that second point is possible......I'll take a real situation for example: I have a friend that's boycotting Nintendo because 3D mario gets all the old 2D mario features plus different gameplay while the new 2D mario keep the same old gameplay with "less features"....
I mean there are all types of odd guys it's really entertaining seeing a logic that doesn't quite fit yours, that is, until some fool starts shoving its point of view as supreme reality....

With statements like this its hard for me to take you seriously. You have no clue what you are talking about.
First A Link Between Worlds isn't even out yet so I can't see how they could just release it
Second its not a remake but a sequel.
That would be like me saying that Majora's Mask is a remake of Ocarina of Time.
so it IS a sequel! this was the third time today I saw/heard someone say the link betwen worlds was a remake so I started thinking I wasn't well informed.... lucky I'm not I still want a brand new zelda game on the 3DS and this will be the one!!

@GuSilverFlame: Yes it is indeed a sequel. Nintendo themselves said so when Iwata himself said that this game will take place many years after A Link to the Past.

@Tatsuki yeah I read all about it(I'm enthusiast about the legend of zelda! ) but after I heard/read so many people say that it was a remake in the same day I thought there was an important update about it that I could have accidentaly skipped! I'm a little paranoid about things changing without warning, with me, it happens all the time...
EDIT: I'm not enthusiast enough to go searching for old and hard to find videogmes though.......

Maybe because it has a loyal following who adore the music in the game? Seems simple enough to me.
