Well I took the chance and bought this game. I got to say from what I've played so far I like it. It's a nice little exploration game.I hope it's not too short.(especially after seeing that video.) This is my first Zelda game, btw. For my first Zelda experience this is pretty decent. Keep in mind I'm barely at tail cave or something so I may change my opinion later.

Downloaded, hadn't had this kind of fun since oracle of ages!

I wish they had used X for start.
You can use Y for Select but X opens up the VC menu :| i hate pressing Start on the 3DS and this game uses it a LOT.

I can confirm that the GB Printer parts do nothing, not even an error message, just nothing.

Oh look! A Morphloggery. Oh, and a Morphsite too.

Link's Awakening is amazing. Surprisingly great story for a gameboy game, a good blend of the previous 3 Zeldas (in a way), awesome cameos, awesome soundtrack and easily my favorite 2D Zelda. If you haven't played this brilliant game you owe it to yourself to get it.

This will be the first and only virtual console game I buy. Nintendo, this it not how you provide good online services.

Their pathetic handling of every single facet of the 3DS has convinced me I do not want their new console, this is just woefully sub par on so many levels.

Great, loose faith in Nintendo and their whole entire future based on THE PRICE OF ONE GAME.

it's honestly better than 99% of next gen games (no offense to next gen) for like 1/9 or 1/10 the price, so I'm just laughing (which I needed, so thanks)

I can't believe all the people complaining about the price. You can't manage six measly dollars?
Ever thought of getting a job? Better yet do some chores around the house. I'm sure mommy and daddy could loan you the money. You could get this game for the price of a burger and fries and it will last you alot longer.
You even get to keep it. Unlike the burger which just ends up in the toilet eventually.

This was one of my most memorable gaming experiences growing up, so I'm looking forward to tackling it again, and in color for the first time (I've never played the DX version).

I'm playing it in tiny-mode (ie non-scaled) for the authenticity and crispness. Am I alone in that? You guy prefer large or crisp?

Yes this game is a wonderfull masterpiece! I didn't really get hooked on Zelda until I played this one. I thought the little Gameboy border was kinda neat but I don't mess with the resolution.
The original Gameboy screen was bigger than the 3DS's tiny mode.

I play Mario Land in tiny mode because without it, it looks like, pardon my french, butt.
Link's Awakening looks really good in standard mode, though, so I'm sticking with that. It also controls surprisingly well with the circle pad...just throwing that out there.

Both work for me. I forget to try "crisp" all the time when I start a game

I never played the original game (was too young for the original one, and my parents never bought me the DX version).
But i did play the oracle games like... 10 times each!

So the story and all the puzzles and dungeons are new to me, it's amazing.

The Oracle games are good but Link's awakening has a charm all it's own.

Indeed it is available in the EU now. I prefer it in 1:1 mode. The 3D really makes it stand out even more and as someone else already mentioned, the colours are really vivid and the graphics sharp.

As for the price, I can understand people on limited budgets feeling a bit agrieved simply because if they bought everything that the want for the system, they'd end up broke. For those of us sitting on huge piles of development profits (I wish), I don't think it's a bad price for the content. I paid full price for it in black & white. I paid full price again for it in colour. I'd have been happy to pay a boxed product price to play this game again on VC given that it's a far better gaming experience than a lot of new boxed games in my opinion.

I think this was the first ever Zelda game that I played "properly" (as in I wasn't having a quick 10 mins round at someone else's house) and I'd be happy if they kept making new Zelda games totally based around this game engine. It's a fantastic game and well worth the money, even if you've played it before.

The game has been modified for 3DS, though. Tarin now says "...it on the back of this shield!" instead of "...it on back of this shield!". How sad that I remember that!
