I think I'll simply play Kirby Mass Attack if I ever feel the urge to play some Kirby-Themed pinball.

I think I'll do the same once I actually pick it up. Kirby's Pinball for the GB is alright - but it's nothing special, and you're not getting much from the GB version unless you haz teh nostalgia or really need some 3DS Pinball and dont like Zen/Marvel...

You say that as if it's a negative.

Anyhow, I already have Zen and Marvel, so unless the Kirbyness of this game really sets it apart, I'll probably be skipping.

Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)

I think it's a fair comparison in the way he's presenting it though. If he wants pinball, he already has games that suit his needs. He's curious if the Kirby-specific aspects make it worth owning.

I'd say that's a pretty fair approach. He's not belittling the game for being less impressive than Zen Pinball...he's saying that he already has Zen Pinball, so there's got to be something else to set this apart if he wants to buy it.

I think I remember seeing a commercial for this game back in the day and so wanting it, but I already had another pinball game for GB. So how does this game compare with Kirby's Block Ball — is it worth the extra $1?

@Philli_J_Reed Nooo you changed your name Definitely; I wasn't disagreeing. I was just commenting on the fact that @RR529 and @Geonjaha could make a legitimate comparison between the two titles. I didn't mean for it to sound sarcastic or condescending.

Edit: @iphys I totally thought that Block Ball was just the PAL name for the game or something--I had no idea there are two Breakout/pinball Kirby games!

I actually like this more than Zen pinball. Better tables, bosses, and more fun.

...And officially the only kirby game I can't beat Whispy Woods on. (His stupid gordos keep hitting ma flippers!)

Kirby pinball, isn't a real pinball game, like Zenball.
Its more like a pinball adventure game, like Sonic spinball.

Kirby is fun for what it does. Its an old school pinball game with four levels. You can warp to the other two tables to take on all the bosses in one play through. What's different about this one is you have a last chance effort to save your ball if it drops. You can do that up to 4 times I believe. Fun little ttime waster!

You know the title screen music? When you press A or B, you go to the score, and pressing it again will make the title screen music restart. I can't seem to stop mashing the buttons just to hear it repeat over and over again. WHY ME?

never played it on the gameboy, decided to check it out, and I enjoy it more than the zen pinball.

They scored this very poorly here on NintendoLife, but let me tell you, folks, it's a great game and don't let the review given on this site turn you away. If you like retro gaming and specifically Gameboy games, and you like pinball, you'll probably going to enjoy this game thoroughly. I'd give it a 6 or 7/10.

I haven't played either game. But they are both entirely different. Block Ball is like Breakout and Pinball Land is..... pinball. I would say Block Ball is more worth it in my opinion.

How about a review of the game based on its own merits? Its a Virtual Console game, obviously many games will have been surpassed over the years. By his standards, Link's Awakening should only have been rated 4/10 just because Ocarina of Time 3D already fulfills his adventuring needs.

Once again, the game did get a review on its own merits. Link's Awakening has a great score because we feel it's a great game. Kirby's Pinball Land has a less than great score because we feel it's a less than great game. It's as simple as that. You're welcome to disagree, of course, with the review, but the score it received was not because it failed to be as good as other, later games. The score it received was earned for what it, itself, was.
