Ah dear i hate to say this but after playing a few of these games if you have experienced them on the DS Light or an GBA SP the colours are all wrong the screen blurring smudging etc is terrible on the 3DS im dissapointed as they are not a patch on how they should be.
It's a different screen. Ever notice that VC games look different on your newer HD TV than they did on your old Tubed TV? It's kinda the same thing here.
I fired up my old DS Fat and compared them. The colors are much brighter and more vibrant on the 3DS. The resolution on 3DS does look slightly different but you can change the resolution by holding select before loading up the games. Just like with the DS games. It makes them appear way too small though when you do that.

Remember how Nes games on Wii VC appear darker than they did on an actual Nes? That's just the way it goes. Emulation is great and all but nothing beats experiencing games on their original systems. You're just gonna have to deal with it.

Have you tried to raise the brightness to 5 before starting a gba? Im pleased with colours/brightness/contrasts aso. level 3 looks a bit washed out on my 3ds, perhaps 4 will work also.
But generally I agree with Link79. Nothing to add.
Grammar errors? We could use the german language instead of the english one of course - do you dare? ;)
i booted fusion up in 1x1 mode and it looked great, sharper than i ever remember the GBA looking. then i tried it in the upscaled mode and it looked much blotchier, but it was exactly how i remembered the game looking on the GBA. (the fact that it nearly fills the whole 3DS screen width is a nice surprise, by the way)
Hold down start when booting a game to have it display in super sharp 1:1 res. But yeah. I tried Yoshi's Island and somehow the colors appeared somewhat darker and less vibrant than they should be. Oh well.
My brightness was on 4 before...dunno why, but yeah they look more dull than from what I remembered. The upscaled thing doesn't really bothered me, same story with the DS games...lol

Keep it PG-13-ish.
I agree; though i think i have been a bit spoiled having played many of these games on my beloved GBMicro, which has such a deliciously crisp, clear picture.
To me, it almost looks like they've set up a visual filter to make them look the way they did on the original GBA SP. Even in native resolution mode, they have that same kind of washed out look I remember from the original SP. Kinda nostalgic if you ask me.
Go to the 3DS's Menu. Hold down START and SELECT. See the game's icon shaking? ( Should do the same for Virtual Console TItles ) That means the resolution has been "fixed".

Enjoy.
you're saying you can permanently set the resolution the game boots up in instead of having to do it every time? nice.

Well, that's what IGN wrote. I followed a helpful guide on their website Should do it so you don't have to set it up every time, i hope O.o Because otherwise it would definitly suck.
